Our guide was Aleksandra, with a small group on a hot day. We met in the Hauptmarkt which is where the Christmas Markets takes place. There we looked at the Frauenkirche and the Schöner fountain as well as seeing a wedding. We were told about the origins and development of Nuremberg from the Middle Ages before walking up being told about the rebuilding of the town after the war. Later we were told about the local cuisine, Franconian foods and beers before making our way up to the castle and gardens. There was a discussion about the significance of Nuremberg with the Rallies, Nuremberg Laws and then post war trials. Finally we walked past the Dürer house down a beautiful old street before the tour finished. The timing was perfect and the information was just right.
Great overview of the city. Having a local guide really enhanced the experience. We had a nice overview of both history and current life in Nuremberg.
Our guide Hermann was very dedicated and explained a lot about Nuremberg - the Middle Ages, etc.
