YOU MUST HAVE ALEX AS YOUR TOUR GUIDE!!!!! He made our experience 1000000x better. Truly the kindest, most welcoming, heartfelt, knowledgeable, and gracious person. You can tell how much he genuinely loves what he does and loves sharing his home, history, and culture with others. He made every single part of the day feel special, personal, and so much fun. We left feeling like we didn’t just have an incredible tour guide — we made a friend. One of the absolute highlights of our honeymoon and a day we will never forget. Cannot recommend Alex enough!!! 🤍

An interesting whizz around some parts of the city tasting local foods. Finished at a pavement restaurant with wines and charcuterie.

During this afternoon tour we visited two Grand Cru estates in Saint-Émilion, Château Rol Valentin and Château Vachon. Both are family owned estates that produce a variety of high quality, affordable Bordeaux wines. They both offer shipping services for guest who’d like to continue enjoying their wines when they return home. Both visits were informative about the region, wine making process and the families historical passion for wine production. Along the way our guide, Margot, provided an upbeat interactive experience for our small group which created a positive atmosphere for us strangers to genuinely enjoy the tour together. She’s highly knowledgeable of wine in the region and its historical context. The only constructive feedback I have is that there wasn’t enough free time in the Saint-Émilion village. That was one of the main reasons I booked this tour vs several other options and 20 minutes just wasn’t enough. The tour should be scheduled for a longer duration to accommodate for delays, traffic and any other factor that may limit free time in this stunning UNESCO World Heritage Site. The aperitif (wine, cheese, nuts, bread) at the second vineyard was very tasty and added an authentic feel to this touristic excursion. I highly recommend booking this tour if you want to explore more than one Château and do not plan to rent your own vehicle while visiting Saint-Émilion. Had a fantastic tour with Nicholas who has a background in viticulture and provided our group with an excellent overview of Bordeaux, Saint-Èmilion and the region. We enjoyed our wine tastings at Chataeu Cadet Bon hosted by Giuseppe and family-owned Clos Systey by the Fanny as well as strolling through The medieval town of Saint Emilion with our tour guide Nicholas who shared the history of the village. What a wonderful day. One tip- book directly with Wine Trails vs a third party booking platform. You will get a better price than we did booking through a third party and more flexibility if needed by booking directly.

Great experience. We were able to see the sights of the Bordeaux city centre while we toured about the local wine bars. Our guide Alex was great company, very enthusiastic and extremely knowledgeable about wine and local history. I will recommend this to anyone travelling to Bordeaux!
