We were not expecting the tour to include a visit to the national museum, which we had scheduled for another day, so we got started slowly with the “food” portion of the tour. The market place was a great place to visit and try some snacks and the restaurant where we tried the Ghanaian food was really good. We are used to food tours including 3-4 stops for various dishes, which is why this is rated as four stars. Our guide and driver were pleasant and provided nice conversation about Accra.

Would highly recommend this food tour experience! My friend and I had a great time and ate and drank so well during the tour—this isn’t one of those typical “small taste” type of tours you might experience elsewhere so come hungry and ask them to wrap things up to go for you if you can’t finish. Ransford was amazing and really cared about the experience we had. We can’t wait to come back and try some of their other tour experiences. This was a great activity to kick off our time in country !🫶🏾

The food tour was AMAZING! I did the tour with my best friend and we decided to do this on the first day of our trip to give us an idea of what to expect when it comes to food. We had a great time and lots of good eats thanks to Ransford! Everything we had, from the street food and drink at Makola market to the food at the restaurant, we enjoyed. We also really liked being able to stop by the National Museum to hear more about the culture, past and present. Would highly recommend this tour!

The following day began with a tour of a local market where I learned about native Ghanaian foods, fruits, and vegetables. As part of the tour, we had plans to try some street food, but due to my tight schedule, we did not, and so we ventured on to the next stop which was a local restaurant with a wide array of Ghanian food. Kofi took the time to explain the different foods and their ingredients and their cultural significance. I particularly enjoyed the Jollof rice and the goat meat soup at this restaurant. Solid guide and excellent food. Sampling some food in the bustling market was a great, local experience. The food at a delightful restaurant was really fantastic. Highly recommend, especially on arrival in Ghana to get a flavor of the cuisine and political/historical context. Thanks for the quick stop at Kwame museum, too!
