We’ve been to 3 Luau’s on different islands. Ka Hikina was our favorite hands down. The performers were amazing, and we loved that it was an intimate Luau with fewer people than we’re used to (200-300). We highly recommend.
Great experience family loved the show
We had a wonderful experience! The host narrated throughout the night, telling us all about the dancing from all the Polynesian islands. The music and dancing was great! There was even some audience participation. The food was excellent and there was plenty! I highly recommend this luau. Get there early to get the best seats.
It’s not as flashy as the other luaus on the island but very informative and just as entertaining. Learning about Uncle Larry and his work in music and with Elvis was really interesting.
What a fun evening! People began arriving just before 5:00 (check in time) and we received a shell lei greeting and mai tai or pineapple juice. Seating began at 5:20, first come first serve, but the whole venue is small/intimate (about 125 people) so there really isn’t a bad seat. After being seated the main host explains the evening plans very well. There is a mini pre show, then some time to check out the vendors (sterling silver jewelry, flower hair pieces, bracelets, etc) without feeling any pressure to buy. You can also purchase a real plumeria lei for 15 each (cash/venmo) which goes to benefit the local hula school. On the lawn between the venue and ocean you could play the drums or swing the poi balls with the performers. Open bar available until 7:30, with alcohol free options/soda. The food was buffet style and each dish labeled including allergens, gluten free, vegetarian or vegan which was greatly appreciated. There was plenty of food for all and it was all so delicious! They even had a small self serve coffee/tea station available all evening. The show began at about 7:15. The performers were great! Many costume changes and a variety of dances. A few volunteers could even dance on stage which was fun to watch. The open air pavilion was great so we didn’t have to worry about the possibility of getting rained on but could still enjoy a view of the ocean. The fire dancer had to use a side stage, just outside the pavilion, which was understandable but made it a little more difficult to see. After the show ended, around 8:30, you could get pictures with the performers. Bathrooms were a very short walk to the building next door. It was overall such a great experience, so comfortable and relaxing. Everyone was so nice, definitely would recommend this!
