We booked an Airbnb south of the Acropolis, near Lofos Filopappou park, which we would walk through to visit the various sites: Agora, Acropolis, rooftop restaurants with a view of the Acropolis in the Monastiraki or Plaka neighborhood. A must-do: watch the Acropolis from the Philopappos Monument or from the "Nymphs Hill" rock in the evening.
Archaeological museum is timed ticket eventhough we were to meet at the pther musem-very confusing. Helped yo get tickets here when museum was sold out at their own site-more expensive here but we wanted to go. Audio tour easy to use and pretty good.
Wonderful museums. NAM was overrun with cruise ship people but great in spite of it. New Acropolis museum is outstanding.
For sure purchase your tickets here because the line to purchase them at both museums were very long. Already having our tickets allowed us to walk directly to the ticket scanners.
Incredible insights going far beyond the usual tours. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a meaningful experience plus amazing photos of course. A visit to the Acropolis wouldn't have been complete without my highly educated and knowledgeable guide who drew upon many fields to tie it all in for a tailored trip of a lifetime. The skip the line tickets are fantastic! The audio worked perfectly for me, but it kept cutting out on my husband's phone and he was lucky the museums had wifi so he could connect and listen.

Overwhelmed by choice and eventually bought this. Glad i did. It saved us queuing. Ended up not using acropolis museum ticket which i suppose made it less good value but this was our choice as will do that on another trip. In partic the arch museum had very long queues as we arrived mid morning mid november and we were glad to get in easily as had full day of things we wanted to do. As for the acropolis itself cant recommend highly enough. We arrived close to opening and by midday it was very busy on the site and at the entrance queues. Glad i had binoculars for site and city also. Lack of simple map/info but i had printed one and glad i had. Loos at the top in the old museum buildings which you could miss as tiny signpost.
