Second time we’ve booked this excursion! It’s wonderful except it was cut short. We left the dock at 1:15pm. Small powerboat overloaded with passengers. We were called to return to the boat at 2;30pm. This was not a 2.5 hour excursion. Although we collected sea glass, we were disappointed with the details that mentioned an “approximate 2.5 hour activity.” Being that the activity was cut so short, we felt the cost of the excursion was overpriced.

Even better than anticipated, there is glass everywhere. We hit the trifecta, found tons of blue, 1 purple, 1 red. Our tour guides were amazing. All were friendly, informative and even showed us the secret to finding the best glass.
Was wonderful. We were icked up at our hotel. Very helpful since I had sprained my ankle. All the guys were very kind & patient. Awesome time we went twice!
Very interesting place. We had fun looking for the different colors and unique shapes. Our pickup driver was over 30 minutes late which made us a bit nervous but they just started our 2 hours on the island when we arrived so it all worked out in the end.

Secluded island away from the masses that is literally made of seaglass. All the greens, browns and clears you could ever want with a little blue and pottery thrown in! The boat ride was an actual boat. I was expecting a dingy, but it was an actual comfortable boat. The guides were great as well.
Our guide Jeffrey was very friendly and full of "positive vibes"! He made sure we all got some unique pieces in our bags. He was informative about the island and Aruba in general.
Years ago, a nearby glass recycling business closed due to the death of the owner, and the piles of bottles etc. were moved to a site closer to shore, where inevitably they fell into the ocean. After years of pounding, the resulting beach glass washed up on what would otherwise have been a sandbar, resulting in what is now called Sea Glass Island. It is difficult to believe this island until you are standing on it. While there is sand, the surface is heavily coated with beach glass. Finding it is as simple as looking down or, if you are looking for a particular color, digging a few inches into the ground. This tour seems to be run by some enterprising individuals who take advantage of a public dock in Savaneta, on Aruba's southwest shore. As others note, the area seems a little sketchy at first, but keep in mind that the same parking lot services the famous Flying Fishbone Restaurant, and the Aruba Island Villas, which go for over $1100 a night. The public dock looks like a wreck at first, but it seems to hold up, as many groups use it to launch boats. This one takes you by a small boat (holding about 10 people) for a 5-minute trip to the island. There they supply you with hand-digging tools (think the kinds of things you use to weed a small garden) and a Ziploc-style bag to hold whatever you find. When you arrive, you find an island that is made up of rocks, sand, and tons and tons of sea glass. Finding more is a matter of scratching the surface and seeing what's under it. While all of the glass we came across was smooth, you really, really want water shoes when you come. The website requires it. Keep in mind that the island is made up of rocks, some sand, and glass. You'll want to look around for different spots, which means you might walk a bit in the water or across rocky beds to get to another area. The staff was knowledgeable and worked to make sure everyone had a nice time. They brought water, which was a welcome bonus. We elected the 2-hour 9:00-11:00 tour and that was about right for us, both in terms of length and avoiding the most direct sun. There is vegetation on the island and some limited cover, but you will be spending much of the time in the sun. One member of our party described this as a highlight of our time in Aruba.
Our experience couldn't have been nicer! From the moment JR picked us up, we felt right at home, with his easy conversation. As we rode along, he shared interesting information about the island and culture. He handed us off to Jeffrey, who escorted us to Sea Glass Island with the greatest of care. He was so kind, helpful and accommodating. We had a fabulous time and highly recommend!!
