What an amazing experience! This was such a fantastic way to spend a few hours— sharing great conversation with people from different backgrounds, all brought together by Hugo and a common interest in French wine. The blind tasting was especially fun and gave us a chance to experience a wide variety of styles without any preconceived notions. Hugo made the entire experience engaging, informative, and incredibly approachable, whether you already know your way around wine or are just beginning to explore it. And the wine wasn’t the only highlight—the selection of top-notch cheeses paired beautifully with the different wines and made the tasting even more enjoyable. It was a great way to experience how the flavors of the wine and cheese complemented one another throughout the evening. I truly can’t recommend this experience enough. It was easily one of the highlights of my time in Lyon, and I’ll absolutely be back to see Hugo and discover what new gems he has waiting the next time I’m in town!

My wife and I booked this and had a father & son participate with us. Our sommelier guide was Hugo and we had a lot of fun. We learned a lot about the region, the grapes, local fruits, meats & cheeses and different wines. We had 11 ~half pours of wine, split about evenly between white and red, and we were able to revisit the wines we loved! The location is a lovely and comfortable dining room that’s easy to walk to. Highly recommend.

What a fantastic evening. Hugo is a really great host/teacher and has curated a really fun, informative and enjoyable program which absolutely exceeded our expectations. We had planned to treat the tasting as a "pre-dinner" kind of thing but between all the tastings, cheeses, charcuterie and deserts, there was no room for anything once things wrapped up. Also note - when Hugo pops a cork, he's willing to pour the bottle - which is not the case in most wine tastings. He does a great job pairing every bite with every bottle - making the whole experience really special. Hugo picked some super interesting, one-of-a-kind bottles to really stretch our pallets and how on might think about wine. He also mixed in some Premier Cru's to provide great range to the offerings. We would do this again in a heartbeat - no two tastings are the same and Hugo has the range of knowledge and passion for wine that made this really fun.

This was a lovely way to sample some of the regional wines and cheeses. We throughly enjoyed the 10(!) wines served as well as the cheeses, breads etc selected to accent the tasting. It was a great way to spend our last night in Lyon. We didn't need dinner afterwards at all. Our host, Hugo, was very knowledgeable & we were lucky enough to have a couple from a local winery as part of our group. If we are in Lyon in the future, I would do this again!

Great food and historical tour. This tour hosted by Charlotte was just the right balance of food and wine and history. Lyon is undeniably the center of French gastronomy. We had multiple stops at local bouchons, chocolatiers, and bistros that gave us a perfect intro into the unique cuisines de’ Lyonaisse. The wines were all “vins de table,” but went beautifully with our foods. We had several stops by Charlotte to explain the local history, architecture and society that helped us to better understand the cuisine and culture of Lyon. The group was small enough to get to know our fellow travelers and lasted just the right amount of time. We didn’t feel like we could go out for dinner later that evening ( yet we did) due to the amount of food on our tour. I would highly recommend this tour if you have never been to Lyon before and want to understand its vibrant and historic culinary scene.

Our wine tasting experience was fantastic. Hugo was an excellent host — knowledgeable, engaging, and passionate about wine. We learned so much about the wine regions of France, different vintages, and what makes each wine unique. The wine selection was outstanding, and the meat, cheese, and bread pairings complemented everything perfectly. The venue itself was beautiful and created a wonderful atmosphere for the tasting. Overall, it was a fun, educational, and memorable experience that we would highly recommend.

This was my second experience with Hugo and it was a fantastic wine tasting. We did our tasting blind which was a lot of fun! Hugo knows so much about French wine and the setting was beautiful. Don't hesitate to book for a fun experience in Lyon!

10/10 recommend this wine tasting... he was incredibly knowledgeable and well educated about all things wine! He was so interesting to listen to, and made learning about French wine and everything that goes into wine making, very fun! We tried at least 10 wines from around France, fresh breads, cheeses for pairing, and even a delicious dessert. We would wholeheartedly recommend this experience. It was one of the best things we did in Lyon!! Book this experience, you won't regret it!

We had an incredible afternoon of wine and food at Hugo's charming tasting room in the centre of Lyon. The wine was a fascinating selection from across France, highlighting different appellations, styles and ages. We initially tasted the wines blind, which was enjoyable and thought provoking. The pairings were on point and some of the best food we had in our trip to Lyon. A unique wine experience which we will definitely return too.
