アンバードはアルメニア最大の要塞で、アラガツ山の南斜面に位置しています。大邸宅と城壁の一部は、カムサラカンの高貴な家によって 7 世紀に建設されました。 10 世紀にヴァフラム・パフラヴニによって再建されました。要塞は、パフラヴニ王国とバグラトゥニ王国の軍事防衛の中心地となり、支配者の夏の離宮でもありました。このサイトには、教会、礼拝堂、浴場、壁、いくつかの門など、さまざまな建物が組み込まれています。
カリ湖はアラガッツ山の斜面にあります。その水のほとんどは氷と雪から来ています。海抜 3, 185 m に位置しています。
Byurakan Astrophysical Observatory は、旧ソ連の最も有名な天文台の 1 つである近代的な天文センターです。世界的に有名な天体物理学者 Viktor Ambartsumian によって 1946 年に設立されました。

We were on vacation in Armenia from September 2 to 12, 2022, to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary, and we carried out many excursions, mostly private tours, with different agencies. We have great memories of all of them, but especially the one we did to Amberd fortress, Lake Kari, Mount Aragats and Byurakan Observatory (a very special destination for me, since I am an astrophysicist by training) with New Silk Way, accompanied by our wonderful guide Sona Petrosyan (Tour Manager of the Agency). The logistics of the excursion was excellent, the visits, gorgeous and Sona's explanations, very instructive. We would like to highlight the great kindness and professionalism of our guide, who even went beyond of what is expected of a guide to make our adventure an unforgettable experience. We highly recommend New Silk Way Travel Agency and Sona to all who wish to discover the wonders of Armenia, a truly wonderful country and people. We will definitely come back some day!
