近隣のビラ・オリンピアの向かいに建ち、1990年にバルセロナのこの地域の再開発の際に建てられた。 マリーナの設計は建築家のオリオール・ボヒガス、ジョセップ・マルトレル、デヴィッド・マッケイ、アルベール・プイグドメネックが担当した。 市は厳しい基準を満たすスポーツマリーナを必要とし、1992年のオリンピックではセーリング競技が行われた。 マリーナにはヨット用の756のバースがあり、その入り口はバルセロナのどこからでも見える。 その両側には、フランク・ゲーリーの壮大な金魚の彫刻を根元に据えたマフレ・タワーとホテル・アーツの2つの超高層ビルがあり、近くにはグラン・カジノ・デ・バルセロナがあります。 ウォータースポーツの愛好家は、ここでヨットや他の種類のセーリング技術を練習することができます。夏季には、マリーナの両側にあるビーチ、ソモロストロとノヴァ・イカリアは、日光浴や海水浴に最適です。
1989年にプリツカー賞を受賞した建築家フランク・ゲーリーによる魚の彫刻は、オリンピック後のバルセロナを象徴するもののひとつとなり、地中海の水面に浮かんでいるように見える。 オリンピックマリーナとバルセロナのビーチの水辺を司るこの彫刻のうろこには、太陽の光が反射されている。 1992年、手つかずのオリンピックバルセロナは、海辺を変革していた。 ツインタワーを擁する新しいオリンピックマリーナが形作られつつあった。 一方の側にはマフレ・タワーが建ち、もう一方の側にはホテル・アーツが建っていた。 フランク・ゲーリーはホテルのふもとに魚の彫刻を置いた。 体長56メートル、高さ35メートルで、地中海の青い海に飛び込むことを切望しているようだ。
ポート・ヴェル（Port Vell）は、直訳すると「オールド・ハーバー」で、スペイン・カタルーニャ州バルセロナにあるウォーターフロントの港湾で、バルセロナ港の一部である。 1992年のバルセロナオリンピックに先立ち、都市再生プログラムの一環として建設された。 以前は空き倉庫や車両基地、工場が立ち並ぶ荒廃したエリアで、年間1600万人が訪れる 現在では、マレマグヌム（ショップ、マルチプレックスシネマ、バー、レストランを含むモール）、IMAXポートヴェル、600万リットル（160万USガロン）の海水で満たされた22の盆地にある8000匹の魚と11匹のサメを含むヨーロッパ最大の水族館があり、都市と観光名所の焦点となっている。 ランブラ・ド・マール歩道は、ラ・ランブラとポート・ヴェルを結ぶ。港に船舶が出入りできるように、ブランコ橋を組み込んだ

What a great evening ! Our skipper Marie was so kind, knowledgeable and fun! She gave great info about Barcelona and the port area as well as sailing facts. Our musician, Arjun (sp?), was excellent on the saxophone. Marie sang for us while Arjun played. It was lovely! The weather, relaxed atmosphere and snacks/drinks were perfect. Highly recommend this adventure.

Music was very good and Skipper was excellent. Everything about the night was wonderful and was thoroughly enjoyed by the entire family including the kids age 7 and 11
