Let's get one thing straight, Hallstatt is gorgeous!!! Go there on a sunny clear day and you will be treated to beauty incarnate. It's an experience worth ticking off! BUT. There is little to actually do there. You can eat, drink, walk, boat in literally a few hours tops. There is not much there at all. That being said the tour only gets you 3 hours on site and in our case we had a traffic collision (poor handling by Austria authorities) that wiped out 30-40 min of our time as well. But you have to travel on a coach for 3-4 hours each way (with stops) and that just feels iffy when you spend so little time on site. It may be better or cheaper to rent a basic car and drive it I don't know, you can go faster than a coach for sure. Guide was friendly though kept repeating instructions like we're all children. I don't need to be told the WC location 3 times over to get the point, but maybe that was for all the Asian/Mid Eastern tourist benefit I don't know. All in all, I'm glad I ticked it off my bucket list, but maybe there's a cheaper and more efficient way of doing it.

Beautful location, but maybe there's a better way....

Unique . Clean and worth the trip
Small city at the lake very unique. We had two hours to walk around have lunch and took some nice photos . The atmosphere was very nice and high quality of air but unfortunately spoiled with the heavy smokers . I think they should prohibit smoking at the streets.

A wonderful day trip with...
A wonderful day trip with spectacular views! As stated, its a long bus trip but they do make regular stops. You would need 0.7eur for the restrooms and they do accept cards. The stores during the stops are relatively expensive for snacks and meals, and stop are quite short to order and eat as eating isn't permitted on the bus. Overall it's well worth the money spent and would highly recommend!!

The views are amazing. The skywalk was worth the time and expense. Dress for temperature. Layers. Hat or head covering.Comfortable shoes. Take lots of pictures Enjoy!!!

A trip to Hallstatt is like a mental hug! 🙂
Had a very pleasant day on this Hallstatt trip. The journey time was very long but the very early start provided the opportunity to sleep on the coach. 😅 There were 2 stops on the way to Halstatt as well. This was adequate. Our tour guide Sophia was delightful. She gave lots of interesting information and cracked a few jokes. Moreover she was super helpful with me as I have a disability. She ensure that I knew how to access the disabled toilets at every location. Also at the end of the evening she was very helpful with restaurant recommendations and other tourist sites I may be interested in. Which I was super grateful for. I would recommend this day tour to all interested parties. It’s accessible if you use a walking stick.
