I really enjoyed the cooking class at Mama Noi. The whole experience was lots of fun, the facilities were excellent, and the crew were fantastic. A highlight of my time in Chiang Mai—I’d happily recommend it!

Visiting Thailand with friends, we wanted to learn some basic Thai cooking since we all love to cook and sample various kinds of foods. A friend discovered this school from an internet website and we were thoroughly impressed and enjoyed our experience tremendously. With a hugely pick up (a little later than expected, but they did say that depending on the traffic they cannot promise exact time of pickup) and a visit to the local market where the person teaching the class identified and introduced us to various spices, herbs, roots and condiments used in Thai cooking, we were packed off into a van and driven to a farm a short distance from our hotel. There was a large hall where 2 sets of classes could occur at the same time. Three sets of tables on each side , one with place settings, one where we cut and sliced and prepped up the food, we learned to make traditional tom yum, rice, pad thai. Was so much fun. Beware the Thai chillies. They are way hotter hear than you are accustomed to. We then ate our cooked meal happily together!

The cooking class was held at their property with a beautiful garden, which was so pretty.. take lots of pics! Food portions are large, so come with an empty stomach. Our guide was great, and all you need to do is enjoy. For pickup, it wasn’t clear which car they were coming in as there was NO SIGN on the car. They should definitely put their name or some kind of sign on the bus…. Also, bring bug spray! We were happy we chose the air-con option too.

Really very nice experience with a market where you can watch your eyes and a very nice place to cook. Our cook spoke good English and was very enthusiastic.

Our private tour with Kung was one of the highlights of our trip to Thailand! Visiting both the floating market and the train market gave us such a unique glimpse into local life. Kung was incredibly knowledgeable, shared fascinating history and cultural insights throughout the day, and had a wonderful sense of humor that made the experience even more enjoyable. She went above and beyond by taking so many amazing photos of us without us even having to ask. At the train market, she made sure we had the perfect viewpoint to watch the train pass through, and at the floating market, she guided us to some of the best local foods and vendors. The entire day was seamless, well organized, and exceeded our expectations. We left with wonderful memories, fantastic photos, and a much deeper appreciation for Thailand.

What a great cooking experience. I always think it’s gonna be complicated but they made it very simple and we got done with three dishes very quickly they were delicious ploy was fantastic
