Great experience renting bikes for an afternoon. Rental process was super easy. Bikes were very nice and came with helmet and lock. Bobby's is right next to the Lakeshore Trail, which is AMAZING. It the weather is fine, this should be at the top of your itinerary.

Had a wonderful loop along lakeshore trail. Probably the best lakeshore trail in the world. Arrived at opening without a reservation. Joleigh was really helpful sorting me out with a 2 hour rental on a road bike. She was welcoming and made sure I was equipped. The bike was in perfect condition and I enjoyed a ride down the south turn around and some of the north. Amazing views with the sunrise over the lake and plenty of wildlife! Highly recommended. Gave me plenty of time at the Art Institute in the afternoon before my overnighter on the Amtrak to Greenwood MS.

Our bicycle pickup and drop off was quick and easy. Our bicycles worked well. The staff was extremely friendly. We had a great time riding by the Lake.

We typically go into Chicago a couple times a year to jazz clubs, restaurants or shows and always enjoy doing something around the lake. This trip we rented bikes from Bobby's Bike Rental. It's tucked in just west of Lakeshore at Ohio St. so a little tricky to find but just follow the signs. They are friendly and low-key and included in the rental is a tire repair kit and locks so you can stop. We rented for the whole day since the cost was only about $5 more per person than half day. We had a great time, the weather was terrific. We went north as far as the lakeshore trail goes, then came back south and stopped at the Lincoln Park Zoo for a while, then continued on south to the Museum campus. All told took about 5 hours and covered 20 miles or so. Highly recommend it as a great way to spend time and get a little exercise,

Group of 11 rented bikes. One bike half way had a mechanical issue and they were excellent in helping us.

My wife and I really enjoyed the half-day bike rental, which was enough time to pedal along the lake up to Montrose Beach (about 45 minutes to reach that beach), and to stop for lunch and a stroll in Lincoln Park Zoo on the way back. Appreciated the 7 speeds of the comfort bikes compared to the 1-speed of some city bike shares or a Jersey shore boardwalk rental. The staff is knowledgeable, and Bobby's is a working bike shop that keeps the bikes in good repair and gets you outfitted for your ride.

If you’re thinking about renting some bikes and riding about through Lakefront, do it! It’s so much fun and the sights are awesome! We happened to walk in without a time reserved and were able to rent out some bikes easily!
