I really enjoyed reading this, especially knowing that you’ve been spending time in San Francisco for more than 15 years and Brian was still able to introduce you to new places in North Beach. That makes your review especially meaningful to me. Brian really does love this neighborhood, and you picked up on something that makes him such a special guide—the relationships he has with the people at the places we visit. I’m glad you also enjoyed stepping into the chapel and the local theatre. For me, those little discoveries are as much a part of North Beach as the food. And I love your advice about skipping lunch or dinner! We definitely want everyone to leave well fed, and it sounds like the pizza, sandwiches, arancini, fudge, coffee and cannoli did the job. I’m sorry you were disappointed with the food. Guests enjoy pizza, focaccia, deli meats, arancini, cannoli, chocolates, sweets, coffee and more along the way. I was especially sorry to read that you came away feeling there wasn’t much eating on the tour. We put a lot into the different food stops, and I wish that part of the experience had been better for you. I know it was an unusually warm day in San Francisco, and I’m sorry you had to spend so much of it walking in the heat. I’m very sorry your tour was rushed. A comfortable, relaxed pace has always been an important part of our North Beach tour. We regularly welcome guests of different ages, and with frequent food stops and opportunities to sit along the way, no one should have to hurry to keep up. I’m glad you enjoyed the food and the neighborhood history, especially the pizza and cannoli at the end. The pace you experienced was not okay and was not how this tour is designed to be experienced.
