Shooting with Asim was a wonderful experience from beginning to end. His technical skill goes without saying, but what really stood out was how well he knows the timing — exactly when to be where, and what kind of shot each moment will give you. He took me to beautiful locations and never missed the moments that mattered. When the balloons came close he had me in position immediately and directed the composition and poses precisely. As a result I have photos from the moment the balloons lifted off, through the sunrise, and all the way to the landing — every one of them at the best possible timing. I also added hair and makeup and the carpet gallery session. Two makeup artists came to my hotel early in the morning and did a beautiful job — my makeup and hair held up perfectly through the entire shoot, which says a lot about their skill. At the carpet gallery, surrounded by rugs and Turkish lamps, Asim suggested I try a traditional costume. I love traditional dress, so that turned into one of my favourite parts of the day. The shoot itself and the photos I received were both flawless, but what I'm most grateful for is his flexibility. He rearranged the date, the time and the pickup location around my schedule, doing everything he could so that I could shoot on a morning when the balloons would actually fly. Without that, I would never have got the images I most wanted. He was also thoughtful and easy to be around throughout, and the whole morning was a genuine pleasure. Such a nice person, very flexible, picked us up at our hotel, was great at helping with poses and lighting and directing. So excited to see how the pictures turn out! The initial previews that he showed us looked amazing.
