It was an exciting experience. Many people got involved and were warmly supportive throughout. He explained not only the process of making a knife, but also the difference and meaning of a regular knife. It was a lot of fun because they let me experience it little by little while working with craftsmen in each step. In particular, the sound of hitting iron was louder than I had expected, and the sparks produced by the grinder were intense, giving me the power to change the shape of hard matter. It was an amazing experience to start with a square board and then end up with a knife. He also told me about Nepal on the way back and forth in the taxi. There were many situations where communication was difficult due to my poor English, but I liked Nepal even more because of their persistent involvement. I really appreciate them and would recommend this workshop to those who are coming to Kathmandu who like to make things.

Was a totally worthwhile experience. The guide made everything seamless and easy. The blacksmith is so lovely and his family is so sweet. They made lunch for me and made me feel very comfortable and welcome. Watching and helping with the knife making process was truly unique and totally awesome. Was one of my favorite parts of my Nepal trip!!

This is an amazing experience! We watched and participated in the transformation of scrap leaf spring metal to a stunningly beautiful khukuri knife. Indra is a highly skilled craftsman. He was fun to talk with as well. We loved it.

This was one of the best experiences ive had not just in Nepal but in all experiences ive had, he starts with a peice of leaf spring of truck and makes it with your help, got to bang out steal, cut bits off and grinding, it was such a unique experience 👏 highly recommend and Sajeena who drove us there was a great host and even dropped my Flip-flops back at the hotel after I left them there, she was amazing. Plus the knife you go away with is truly unique with your own name or initials on it 😊

This was a fantastic, unique experience, learning and watching the art of Khukuri construction under the steady eye of Indra, a 50-year veteran smith with a great sense of humor and masterful skill with forge and hammer. I did not expect the process to yield such a refined piece, but in two hours, the master smith produced (with some hammering and grinding help from me), I had a blade that looked and performs better than most khukuri you'll find for sale in Kathmandu. The cost was reasonable, the setting authentically rustic, and the class size (we had three) perfect for the class. I also recommend Jivraj, who was my guide for the class, and provided excellent translation assistance and cultural insights.

This Khukuri knife making class was great! Informative, fun and definetly leaves you with a lasting impression and appreciation of this hard work. The knives are sharp and beautiful.
