This is a fun interaction with several monkeys! The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly! Would definitely give the a thumbs up!

We had an amazing time on this excursion, monkeys were fun! Tamares was our tour guide and he was great giving us all the details about the city, The only downside was confusion on pickup location. We were guided to walk almost 2 miles passed the gate. Meetup was supposed to be at the taxis. Perhaps a large sigh would be helpful. Everyone was wearing green shirts at the taxi stand.

Great 3 hour your - especially if you like animals. We saw turtles, geese, chickens, guinea pigs, capybara, Cayman, and of course the monkeys. We had an opportunity to interact with the monkeys for a good 30+ minutes. They also did a lovely demonstration on how to make coffee from the beans and a cigar rolling demonstration. Great place for families to come. Following the animal encounter we drove through the downtown and made a quick stop for some pictures by the fort. This was such a wonderful way to spend our cruise day at Amber Cove! Tamares was a wonderful guide - friendly and informative. First, we took a quick drive over to the monkeys where we spent some time getting to interact with the monkeys (this alone was worth the whole trip!) and then learned a bit about their coffee and chocolate agriculture in the DR- including a sample of coffee and hot chocolate. We then got to watch a cigar maker and learn a bit about that process. There were a few other animals around this stop as well - cats, peacocks, chickens, parrots. We then left that stop and headed to Umbrella street and Pink street for great photo ops and a bit of souvenir shopping. Tamares was always nearby but never intrusive and allowed us to really feel safe but still have the freedom to do what we wanted. After that, we went to Independence Park and then drove along the coast to a beautiful Puerto Plata sign pic opportunity and then back to port. Couldn't have asked for a better experience and plan in the future to work with Tamares for more sight seeing when were back at the DR. For anyone curious - my husband and I booked and we ended up with one other couple on our tour which was nice - definitely not overly crowded. Vehicle was newer, clean and had great AC to cool off in! Highly recommend booking this tour while you're in the DR!

They give a nice little tour before you see monkeys. People there are very kind and it was a very amazing experience!!!

The experience was amazing the squirrel monkeys were adorable and very interactive with everyone. We even got to meet the alpha of the group A+ plus for the handlers. They were very experienced and professional.

The experience was the right fit for so many reasons. It was more than just a monkey interaction experience it was the opportunity to learn more about the DR culture and traditions. The amount of time spent at the location was perfect for a getaway off the cruise for a few hours and doesn’t take the entire day away from the cruising experience.

Everything was amazing! Definitely worth the price. I was a bit nervous since we didn’t go through the cruise line, but everything was incredible.
