Caral has the oldest pyramids in America. It is well worth the 3.5 hour drive there and back. Seeing the changing geography along the way was interesting. Felipe was wonderful, energetic and engaging and Carlos was an amazing driver. They picked a great lunch spot on the way back. This tour was a perfect full day trip after landing in Lima, the drive was relaxing and the 2 hours walking Caral was easy.

great day
Caral was super interesting. If you love old history this is a must. We had Felipe and Ronald ,and they were absolutely wonderful. Felipe did a great job driving through traffic and even a small river to get to Caral. Ronald was also awesome he spoken great english, was super fun, and very knowledgeable about history.

Great Day!
Ronald was our guide and was fabulous! He had a deep knowledge of ancient civilizations and his enthusiasm for Caral made the tour all the better. Adrian our driver was thoughtful and considerate of us (AC on high lol, slow over speed bumps, etc.). Highly recommend this tour but don’t forget sunscreen and a hat because it’s hot!

An ancient civilization in the desert of Peru
The Caral first civilization in the Americas is a must! This civilization is the 2nd oldest in the world, a couple hundred years younger than that in Mesopotamia! Its pyramids predate those of the Egyptians! Ronald and Phillipe took us to authentic Peruvian restaurants on the way to and from the archeological site in the desert. We felt like we were in an Indiana Jones movie! A man on horseback and an old man serendipitously appeared out of nowhere to help w crossing the creek. Bring lots of water because Lima is an oasis in a huge desert!

Excellent experience.
The ruins of Caral are a fabulous experience and the Ronald guide gave us a super nice day. Very grateful for your work. Your knowledge specific to your area is inexhaustible and super interesting. The whole tour went according to plan and the lunch breaks were well organized. Also the driver Claudio was very well, he handled the vehicle smoothly, avoiding any form of stress. Thank you very much to him. We recommend them!!

Great place to visit and I would recommend this tour and Ronald
We really enjoyed visting Caral and experiencing the oldest known city of South America by being there in person and able to soak up the energy and atmosphere of this sacred site.
Ronald was a great tour guide and provided us with lots of information both during the journey to and from Caral as well as at the site itself.

Thanks to Ronald and our driver Carlos (Indiana Jones) for an amazing day visiting this fascinating, ancient site. We were picked up on time, communications were excellent, we felt in safe hands, and we learned so much, not just about Caral but about climate, geography, history, culture, the people of Peru, including how to order water without dying of thirst first (very funny!) and it was thoroughly enjoyable all day, the journey and the entertaining conversations with Ronald. Enjoy Kingdom of Heaven, Ronald! We highly recommend this tour and we thank Ronald (and Carlos of course) for really taking excellent care of us all day and for making our time in Peru so memorable. Deeply informative - as well as striking
For us, a visit to a site like Caral is most interesting if we leave with a deeper understanding of the historical and cultural significance of the site. This requires a top-notch guide. Ronald not only could place the site of Caral in historical context in terms of Peru but also in terms of global history (including recent discoveries that aren't discussed at the site). He could also provide global answers to questions ranging from why a lot of buildings in coastal Peru look unfinished to why the desert coast is so fertile provided there is a source of water. He clearly does ongoing research to make sure he is up-to-date.

A must do!
What a great day we spent with Ronald guide and Felipe our driver! The guys made the 4 hrs drive north east and comfortable; stops for bathroom and snacks. The site is incredible for the history fanatic! The guys translated the Caral guide’s information and all my husband’s questions were answered! We really had a great day; the guys speak beautiful English and are knowledgeable!!!!
