My guide Alan, a native of the island was my private guide. Alan, picked me up from the house I was staying at and returned me after. He was very knowledgeable of the island and SCUBA. He was absolutely very safe; navigating us through the reefs, marine life, and the boat wreck. I would absolutely recommend him for both novice and experienced divers. For reference, I am a PADI Rescue cert diver with approx 50 dives under my belt.

Alan takes a lot of pride in sharing his island home and making sure every dive is relaxed, safe, and tailored to the diver in front of him. My daughter and I went diving with Pauline with our dear friend. It was a wonderful exclusive experience. We felt so safe in Paul’s hands, and her energy was very calming. pauline collected us and dropped us off, and we had a fantastic Dive. The equipment was state-of-the-art and incredibly safe. She was kind, patient, energetic, and very smart. I will definitely dive with underdog drivers again and recommend them.

On Saturday I signed up for a solo dive on Monday. It was listed as "pending" for about 12 hours, then canceled. I'm guessing the operator wanted to make more money by getting a couple rather than a solo diver. I was not given an explanation. It is too late now to try to find another option. I had signed up last minute for this dive because I had to cancel a dive I had scheduled for Saturday morning with another company because my husband got sick and we were in the emergency room until 4a Friday night. Overall this made for a bummer of a trip. I was very excited about diving with Underdog, now I'm just very sad and disappointed.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience, and we are truly sorry your trip started with an ER visit. We hope your husband is feeling much better. We also want to clarify what happened with your booking. At Underdog Divers we check booking requests only once a day, and because all our dives and tours are fully private, our availability is very limited. In your case, your request was never accepted by us, so what you saw was not a cancellation, but simply the system timing out the pending request. Please also know that we never prioritize one guest over another for financial reasons. It is only a matter of timing and whether a request fits into the schedule at the moment we review it. We love our solo divers just as much, and the solo rate is even slightly higher because the experience is completely private and dedicated to that diver. For future trips, we recommend booking a private dive a few weeks in advance, as last-minute requests cannot always be accommodated. We fully understand your disappointment and hope the rest of your stay improves. We would love to welcome you on a confirmed dive next time you visit Aruba.
I had such a great time last week I scheduled another dive. As before it was a great experience. New location, great wreck dive. The island was very windy today but the selection of dive site was perfect. Ray did another great job of guiding the dive. I am rely being spoiled with these solo dives. The company makes it all about you from pickup to drop off. I’ve been diving for 57 years, these guys do it right. If I could rate it higher than 10 I would. As always make sure you tip your dive guide, they deserve it!
