Excellent tour. Alice Springs and surrounfings.
We booked this small group tour to give us an insight into Alice Springs and the East MacDonnell ranges countryside. When we were picked up at our hotel, it turned out that we were the only 2 people on the tour that day so it became a private tour. Our tour guide and driver Mahesh is a very personable, knowledgeable and entertaining man and we spent a lovely afternoon in his company. The tour started with a visit to the Araluen Arts Centre where we saw some stunning aboriginal and Australian art . Then we moved on to the School of the air visitor centre where we learned about distance learning delivered to children in the remote outback. The flying doctors museum was very interesting and gave us an understanding of its history and current work. Mahesh told us about the Caterpillar dreaming creation stories and we visited the spiritual sites of Emily and Jessie Gaps. The afternoon culminated in a visit to Anzac Hill, a memorial to those who served in the defence of their country. This elevated memorial site provided a panorama of the area and a perfect place to view the sunset.
Mahesh provided the best tour we’ve experienced in Australia thus far. He is entertaining and very funny. Such a delightful day spent with him. He made our trip memorable to say the least.
We booked this at the last minute and we couldn’t have been more pleased! Mahesh Mahendra, the owner and guide, was a pleasure from start to finish. He is well versed in the history, culture, and topography of Alice Springs and the McDonnell Range. He is patient, intelligent, and has a good sense of humor. It was a terrific afternoon, from start to finish.
Very kind guide/driver. Mr Marshmallow was very knowledgeable and offered us additional sights, such as the airplane museum and short ride through the town centre. Would maybe have liked some more information about the local nature and wildlife. Nice combination of museums and visit to two gaps. Short walking distances. Very beautiful sunset on Anzac hill.
Mahesh tells the best stories to go with his regular tour. He entertains as well as educates in a fun way He even stops at a few interesting spots that were not listed on the itinerary as a great extra Highly recommended
The guide Mahesh did a very good job: he knows a lot and tells everything in a casual and funny way. In 5 hours he showed us many highlights in and around Alice Springs and gave us good advice for the rest of the days. We can recommend him at any time. Dr Urs Kaiser
