Music-inspired tour that filled my post punk heart
Kevin was an amazing guide. He communcated prior to me leaving for my trip to ensure I had enough time to get in from London and visit Salford Lads Club, which is only open six hours a week. He also met me at the train station and showed me the best place to store my luggage so that we had enough time to do everything we wanted.
Not only did we visit SLC, we had lunch, a couple pints along the way and visited way more than I will ever remember. From the Pev to The Temple, Wellingtons and multiple famous hotels, to record stores and former site of the famous Hacienda Club, across canals and past multiple historic figures, libraries and excellent places to shop- it exceeded my expectations.
Our tour was supposed to be 4 hours, but because we had the time and the energy, it was 7. Seriously, it was wonderful and Kevin is very kind and knowledgeable. I would absolutely do another tour with him and am honored to refer him.

Fantastic. Exceeded our expectations.
Kevin was assigned to our small group. The first thing he did was ask us our interests (essentially Manchester music between 1977 through 1992). He then did his homework and prepared a list of sites to visit. He was able to share his knowledge of the city and its history (musical and otherwise) with us, as we walked through the town.
Around seemingly every corner, Kevin shared little bits of trivia like how this band played here, or that band rehearsed there.
It really was amazing that all this history happened in such a (relatively) small area.
Even after the tour, Kevin shared even more sites that we weren't able to get to on the tour.
It was a fantastic tour and the highlight of our trip to England.

Highlight of our Anniversary Trip
My husband and I are big music nerds and love a lot of the music from Manchester. As part of our 20th anniversary trip to England, we booked a private walking tour of the city. Our guide, Kevin Garvey, did such an amazing job tailoring a tour specifically for us. He was in touch before we arrived to find out more about us, and then built in thoughtful touches and tour stops that were specific to our interests. And they were places we never would have found on our own. Kevin made the day so incredibly special and it was truly the highlight of our trip. He’s funny, generous, thoughtful and kind and did a great job sprinkling in relevant history and facts about his beloved city.

Great private tour
Roy was an excellent guide! Born and raised his own in Manchester. Great stories for adults and teens - entertaining and educational. Highly recommend way to see the most of Manchester!

Fantastic experience touring Manchester with Roy!
We had such a great experience on this tour. Our host, Roy, was very personable, knowledgeable and communicated clearly regarding the meeting point and time (suggest to download and use WhatsApp if not already using). We spent the prior day touring central Manchester on our own, but Roy brought the city to life, even pointing out many landmarks we walked past the day before and did not notice. Highly recommend!

Highlight of trip
This was a highlight of our vacation! We had the best time in Manchester and wish we would have stayed longer. It was completely custom to our interests including history, music, food and culture. Couldn’t have been better!

Great private tour
Darren was a wonderful guide. He was very knowledgeable and accommodating. I would definitely recommend taking this tour which gives you a nice overview of the city.

Wonderful Walking Tour
My daughter and I went on this tour. Our guide Kevin messaged in advance to ask about our interests. When I told him we were interested in literature and history, he customized the tour to include three libraries and lots of historic sites. Kevin was WONDERFUL-- super personable and interesting.

Excellent tour
