This was a great way to see some of the random little sights in Cape Town. Dieter was our guide, and he did an excellent job of giving us a locals look at the area. Our walk was customized to us ans showed us many fun areas that we had not found on our own. He was very personable, took a ton of pictures for us, and even sent me a recipe for bobotie! I would definitely recommend this tour and ask for Dieter!

Our guide Willy was very competent and authentic. I'm sure he showed us all the sights of Cape Town. We would definitely go back on tour with him.

Dieter was incredible! We had the absolute best time with him showing us around the city and we were never bored. So much to see in South Africa Cape Town and he took us to a lot of interesting places having to do with culture, shopping, architecture, food and more ! We really enjoyed getting to know Dieter too as he is a super interesting guy and very easy to instantly connect with. He also takes so many photos of you along the journey which are sweet ways to remember the day. We are already talking about the next time we come to Cape Town and we will definitely do another tour with him. If you book with him you are guaranteed to have a great time!

We booked a custom tour as we had specific places to see that were not included with our main package that was put together by a different company. We really wanted to see Bo Kaap and Woodstock and we saw those two places plus much more thanks to our amazing guide Tafadhali! First of all, Tafadhali was very accommodating, easy going and attentive in setting up our custom tour before we arrived. He made sure everything was set up exactly the way we wanted it, easing our minds as this was a last minute addition to our trip! He also made sure to communicate with us as the day of the tour grew closer to make sure we were still good with everything and were enjoying the first part of our trip which meant a lot to us! Once we met him, we felt more like family than people who were paying him to show us stuff and again this meant so much to us. Tafadhali is a great guide who is very interesting, very energetic, extremely passionate about what he does and is extremely knowledgeable about Cape Town. You will certainly enjoy your tour with Tafadhali, now all that is left to do is book him! Now for the tour... Tafadhali met us at our hotel and since we had just gotten off a plane that was delayed and had not been able to eat, he gladly diverted to an area with several food options. Once we were fed and happy, we changed the original plan again and decided to walk through the city to Bo Kaap and this turned out to be a great choice as Tafadhali gave us historical and interesting facts about everything we were seeing and he even took time to divert farther off the route when we saw something interesting that we thought we needed to get a closer look at :-) Eventually, after a great stroll through Downtown Cape Town we arrived at Bo Kaap. Besides the colorful houses and learning the history we really wanted to enter the Auwal Mosque but it was real close to prayer, so we thought we missed out.... NOPE, Tafadhali negotiated with someone who was unlocking the gates and we were allowed in! The Mosque is beautiful and we were very humbled to be let in and be regaled with history and stories by the fantastic gentleman who graciously let us into the Mosque. After this we walked the streets of Bo Kaap admiring the colorful houses and taking in Tafadhali's stories and information. From there we made it back to Tafadhali's car and once again were on our way using a longer route so he could show us more of the city than we anticipated seeing with him before ending up in Woodstock to see the awesome building Graffiti as well as making sure we knew the history and other information of the area. Tafadhali (Tafa) was a brilliant host/guide, and my experience really demonstrates how City Unscripted's uniquely-designed and personal tours can come into their own. I was unfortunately very unwell for most of my South Africa trip, and hit a new low on the morning of my tour. How was I going to see something of the city and actually enjoy it in my present state? Tafa had already found the solution: knowing I was ill, he had changed the walking tour to driving, and incorporated ALL the pharmacies into our sightseeing! I was so grateful I nearly cried. It meant that I could sit in comfort, stop if I needed to, and still see everything. Tafa's gentle and sympathetic company, and his flexibility and quiet insistence on making the experience exactly what I needed, from moment to moment, made all the difference to my Cape Town visit. He was also excellent company, and we had some great discussions about all kinds. I even managed some walking around the Waterfront and to the Mocaa Gallery, but shall have to save the Diamond Museum for another time! My grateful thanks to Tafa for saving the day and making it memorable for all the right reasons.
