The experience exceeded expectations. Our driver Pollen was excellent and added many cultural and local perspectives. The park itself had numerous opportunities to see various animals close up in natural type habitat. Dana, our park guide and driver had vast animal knowledge and added considerable value.

Up close Lion Safari Park near Johannesburg
We had a wonderful time! From the start where we were picked up right on time at our hotel with our driver Lebo. Then an exciting 2 hour safari ride in which we experienced up close lions cheetahs African wild dogs, hyenas giraffes impalas warthogs and more, relaxed with a little shopping and then a peaceful ride back to our hotel in Johannesburg .All we needed to do was call their number and they did the rest! More than a Lion Park
Had a great trip to the lion park. Also saw white lions, black and spotted leopards, giraffes, hyenas etc. Our driver was very knowledgeable.

Good way ro see lions up close
Nicolas the driver was friendly, punctual and helpful.
Sadly my final day in Johannesburg was messed up as I booked this tour due to the timings ( which were confirmed) and I was told pick up would be 8.00. The day before I was told due to a large group we would now be moved to 10.00. We did not get back to joberg until 15.30 as hit rush hour traffic giving me no time to do my planned afternoon.
Lion park itself was wrll organised, clean amd a fun way ro see lots of lions amd other animals. It was great that the humans travelled by cage while the lions had lota of space despite being in enclosures. What felt less good was the 2 leopards that appeared to be in a very small enclosure and more like a zoo.
Overall this isn't an authentic gamedrive but worth a visit if short on time and want to see lions up close.

An enjoyable way to spend...
An enjoyable way to spend half a day or so. We were picked up from our Johannesburg hotel and driven to the park where we had a short wait before the tour itself started. Our driver/guide was very knowledgeable and the park is set out to allow very close access to most of the animals.

Lions All of The Place…And Feeding
We went on our first safari last week but only saw 2 of the Big 5. Our tour guide did not disappoint us at this venue,
Lion and Safari Park was the perfect way to close out our week in Johannesburg.
Watching the lions feed from the safety of the vehicle had all of us leaning forward. We also passed wild dogs, hyenas, giraffes, wildebeest, and zebras throughout the park, with plenty of good light for photos and staff happy to talk conservation.
Evie made sure this last day landed the way the whole week had; it was enjoyable, well-run, and safe.
A strong finish to a week we won’t forget.

Great experience
I had a great experience at the Lion & Safari Park. It was the perfect half-day trip from Johannesburg and a great way to experience South Africa’s wildlife.
The park is well organized, the facilities are clean, and everything ran smoothly. We saw lions, cheetahs, wild dogs, zebras, and several other animals, and our guide shared interesting information throughout the drive.
A special thank you to the driver, Lebo, who was incredibly kind, professional, and welcoming. He made the experience even more enjoyable with his positive attitude and excellent service.
I would definitely recommend the Lion & Safari Park to anyone looking for a well-organized wildlife experience close to Johannesburg
