This trip is a must if it’s your first time visiting Merida! Our guide, Resondo, was very nice, professional and knowledgeable. The way he explained made everything exciting and smooth. We enjoyed the Maya Train, Chichén Itza, X-Cajun cenote where we had a wonderful time swimming and the food was very good. Cochinita tacos were superb! Then we ended in Izamal. We hiked all the way to the top of the pyramid and had a wonderful view of the city. Then we drove back to Merida. Truly amazing!

Crowded historical site
Chichen Itza is a most visit when in the Yucatán peninsula. Be aware that this site is so busy with tourists and vendors that it is hard to enjoy the site, but they need to earn a living. The lunch should be after the plunge in the cenote that was unbelievable almost magic. Avoid drinking the water or you will experience a monumental purge. The water is rich in minerals, non contaminated, and that richness may induce a good purge.
I respect the guide’s opinion but we did not feel the Magic of Izamal, the yellow city. A nice stop at the La Michoacana in Izamal for a fresh fruit helado is highly recommended.

Great tour guide
Absolutely mammoth day with so much packed in, more than I expected so was brilliant. Our guide Rosando went above and beyond in explaining the history behind all we saw and patiently answered all questions. Having free time to explore at each stop was an added benefit. Note, I didn’t end up travelling via train for the first part as I was the only one booked so instead joined the rest of the tour via car in Merida.

Excellent experience!
The ride, Mayan Train Adventure Chichen Itza Cenote and Izamal, we found excellent. From the beginning our trip was smooth and very organized. Rosendo, our guide, is a very enlightened man and knows a lot about Mayan culture. His treatment and friendliness are excellent and made us feel great taking care of every detail and resolving every doubt and question we asked him. Congratulations! In our next visit to Merida we will surely re-contract your services. 🙂
