We had a wonderful guide - Aris - who guided us through the centre of town explaining the history of Sarajevo stopping at different monuments, streets and religious buildings. We were in no hurry and he patiently answered all the questions from us and our girls. The break in-between was good to sit down and relax. We learned a lot about how young Bosnians look at their country and its history and he left us with good recommendations for restaurants, Baklava and a good history museum. We enjoyed it a lot.

The walking tour took us through the charming old town, where we saw magnificent Ottoman-era architecture and learned about the city's long and complicated history. Our guide took us to some of the best and most fascinating spots in the city, including the historic Baščaršija bazaar, where we had the opportunity to sample delicious local food and drink. We also visited the Latin Bridge, the site of the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, which marked the beginning of World War I.
