We join this tour, tour around 7 places with our amazing guide, his name is Dipendra, we have group of 3 only, so which is really good for us. They prepare for us small take away food and juice in the box. We start at 8am and finish around 4pm. Dipendra explained to us really well, with his knowledge and we really thank him. He took us to the nice place, especially there is one stop we are stop at the singing bowl, to visit them and they demonstrate us the technique and different type of singing bowl, is really amaze me! He is chatty, he spoke with my partner about cricket and etc, the only things is this trip is too short.

The trip to Nepal was incredible thanks to Usha and the team at Himalayan social journey. They organised all the sightseeing tours for Kathmandu and Pokhara with drivers and guides which were all amazing . We had to reschedule a few things and Usha helped us and was very flexible and helpful.

So, basically all the Kathmandu day tours are exactly the same...you are going to see the monkey temple, Pashupatinath, the stupa and Patan Durbar square...none of these sights is spectacular but odds are you have a day to kill in KTM before or after trekking. The reason I am giving this 3/5 is the unadvertised sales pitches you are going to get (and this company is surely the same as all the others, so this is not a problem unique to Himalayan Social Journeys)...every tour you are going to go on in or around Kathmandu is going to feature the visit to the Thangka painting art school, the singing bowl store (the only one with authentic singing bowls!), a cashmere store (the only one with authentic cashmere) and whatever other store is relevant to your tour (our tour with the same company to Bhaktapur added a pottery store)...don't get me wrong, you can decline and you aren't forced to buy anything but it's also not what I signed up for and declining will shorten your tour. To be clear, EVERY company is going to do the same thing. It just gets wearisome on tour #2 and #3 when you go through the same process.

We recently did a sightseeing tour of Kathmandu with a private car/driver, visiting Swayambhunath temple, Patan durbar square, Pashupatinath Temple and Boudhanath Stupa. Our driver was punctual and patiently waited while we took our time at the sights. Overall a great tour seeing the key sights of Kathmandu.

It was easy and hassle-free to be picked up and dropped off at four different tourist attractions in a clean, air-conditioned car. This tour is transportation only, and foreigners need to pay an entrance fee of 200-1000 Rs. at each location. I was taken to Dalbert Square in Kathmandu, not Dalbad Square in Patan. I had already visited here the day before, so I had to pay 1000Rs two days in a row. This seemed to be the driver's mistake, and he tried to take me to Patan at the end, but I refused because I would miss the time of my flight back home. It was a very disappointing trip to Nepal that we could not go to Patan.

I had a wonderful tour of 5 days between Kathmandu and Pokhara organized by Himalayan Social Journey company. From the very beginning Usha was extremely helpful and patient to answer all my questions regarding the planning of the tour. I would like to thank in particular my two amazing guides I had in Kathmandu and Bhaktapur. Big thank you to Visnu and Dipendra for all the knowledge they have shared with me. highly recommended!!!!

Great tour, we had the chance to see many Kathmandu attractions in one single day. Our driver and guide were very professional and friendly. The tour was also flexible with our preferences and the time we wanted to expend at each site.

I had a spare day in Kathmandu and wanted to see some of the city’s cultural sights. I was told that there’s usually a full group on the tour, but I was the only person on this occasion meaning that the time spent at each stop was down to me. Dilip, my driver, was informative and friendly and is also a master of navigating the city’s hectic traffic system! All four sights were fascinating - Pashupatinath Temple and Swayambhunath Temple in particular, and I fully enjoyed the day. Things to note: a tour guide inside each temple is not included in the price.
