Unfortunately the staff at the reception did not know what to do with the Viator voucher and had to ask their supervisor whilst we waited for a while while things were sorted out. Also we were the only visitors so the fast pass wasn’t really necessary. Eventually we received tickets in exchange for the Viator voucher. The actual building was worth a visit
Its a hidden gem at abu dhabi, they have preserved their history for future generations. All the details are well explained with audio visuals. You will find less tourists so its peaceful and one can spend good time photo graphing the palace and studying history of UAE
Tourists maybe.. but expats in UAE should visit the place where it all began. This castle saw many things and changes and its feel is just different. The museum is located in the heart of downtown. There’s very nice parking, underground. You can visit the museums head to children’s library and check the exhibitions. The whole area screams culture. And how they build the whole area is honey for eyes. It’s great spot for those cool sci fi yet traditional photoshoots. Really beautiful and serene area in the middle of skyscrapers.
We visited the fort of Qasr Al Hosn and also the adjacent House of Artisans. Both were fascinating. The House of Artisans is so well presented, but maybe more could be done with the coffee making ceremony. The fort was equally interesting, with a history of the buildings and the UAE founding family. We learnt a lot here! We would certainly recommend a visit to Qasr Al Hosn if you’re in Abu Dhabi!
History of Abu Dhabi, from the origins to the present day, from the fort built in the 18th century. The history of the Bedouins and their way of life is presented. The creation of the United Arab Emirates is traced. The extraordinary work of the Emir of Abu Dhabi for his people is on display
Our visit to the museum, art center, and cultural foundation was truly special, thanks to the amazing service from Raad and her sister. From the moment we arrived, Raad was professional and made sure everything went smoothly. She shared a lot of interesting information about the culture and history, and she was so friendly and caring that we felt welcomed and comfortable the whole time. Rahaf was just as kind and full of energy. Her friendliness made the experience even more enjoyable and it was clear she loved sharing the art and culture with us. It's rare to find such genuine hospitality and passion for what they do.
The Qasr al Hosn is an old presidential palace in the middle of Abu Dhabi which can be reached on foot from the Corniche. Admission also includes a visit to the adjacent modern museum where you participate in an Arabic coffee ceremony. Nice impressions.
A short, fairly quick visit to the completely restored fort (too much...?) and discover, with documents and objects, the evolution of Abu Dhabi.
The palace shows the contrasts between the old city and the new being the oldest structure in Abu Dhabi. The palace has been restored and you can now wonder through the halls and courtyards to see how people lived at that time. Surprisingly the palace is similar to the idea of how the wealthy must of lived at that time. It does look like what most Americans would think life would be like here today instead of the modern ideals that the country now embraces an in a way has surpassed us. Just to see the modern city in the background is worth the trip.
The ticket pickup was horrible. Got the email with Voucher and it still requires to pick up the ticket in Qasr Al Hosn office. And NO one in ticket office is redeeming the voucher. The ticket officer has to call in his supervisor and check the system booking to issue tickets for us. 40 mins for pick the ticket. And there is no fast track cuz there were basically no lines to anything. I suggest anyone who wants to visit Qasr Al Hosn to buy ticket directly from their ticket office.
