We took the private tour in Hiroshima with Kahori. The tour was very good and she arranged a very good lunch. The Peace Park and memorial museum were very busy, but not the fault of the tour. We saw the castle and went to a very nice temple in the mountains. Kahori was very informed and great to work with. I would definitely recommend her. It was nice not to have to wait on the bus and she did everything possible to make the walking easier. This included having the taxi drop us off at the entrance and pick us up at entrance. She made sure to find elevators and ramps which was helpful for us.

Mizuho was a great guide. Speaks English well. She explained everything so perfectly and was extremely kind , patient and very helpful at the train station changing our tickets. If you are going to Hiroshima, I recommend this tour.

Emiko was amazing. She was very knowledgeable and patient. She shared personal stories that made the experience more meaningful. I have some mobility issues which could be frustrating but she was helpful and encouraging. I can’t recommend her enough. It was raining and chilly the whole day but she was warm and insightful which made the rain irrelevant

Masako our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about a variety of topics…and given the historical events that occurred in Hiroshima…that knowledge was appreciated. Beyond that, we visited Miyajima and had a terrific visit of the Itsukushima shrine. Again Masako’s knowledge was amazing. The tour was planned to our specifications in a very collaborative process and I thought the price very reasonable, especially considering the knowledge gained and details taken care of. We requested to go to an okonomiyaki restaurant, which was did. It was fabulous…the local oysters were too. Masako was so accommodating she helped us book an earlier Shinkansenback to Kyoto (I booked it far too late) even though the tour ended at 5. Can’t say enough positives about Masako and the tour company, which we also used to visit Nagano….another wonderful experience.

The company worked with us to help us get from our Cruise Ship to the Kure Museum and a Okonomiyaki lunch. Our Tour guide Mizuho Higino was wonderful. She was so charming and helpful translating everything from Japanese to English. She prepared additional information for us. She also recommended and took us to a near by museum she thought we would like. (we did not know it was there) We really enjoyed our day and lunch with Mizuho, she was wonderful! Thanks so much for a great day!

This is my very first time visiting Hiroshima, and it's great to be guided by Kitamuri-san from Japan Awaits. She showed me around the city, and she also has a good sense of humor. I love Daishioin Temple the most, it's really nice and peaceful

I had a cruise ship port day in Hiroshima and booked this tour for my party of six (independent from the cruise line). While not inexpensive, when compared to what the cruise line charges for the big bus/cattle tours, this was actually a pretty good value when split among our group. The tour company did a phenomenal job in communicating with me well before the tour date and worked with me to customize our tour to our likes and dislikes. In addition, very clear instructions were provided to ensure that we could meet up with our guide in port without issue. As for the tour itself, let me start by saying how lovely our tour guide Miyuki was. She spoke excellent english and was a true local. This meant she was able to provide insightful information on top of what is listed in the guides. Even better, she took us to one of the best local restaurants on our entire trip (okonomiyaki)! The tour was well paced and we were able to see so much during the eight-hours. In addition, the van was comfortable and was driven safely by a professional driver. As a note, if you are wavering on wither doing the half-day or full day, I would recommend the full-day. It you don't see both Miyajima and Peace Memorial Park, you are truly missing out! I would absolutely recommend Japan Awaits and this specific tour to everyone!
