We went on the chocolate experience & the Croc skywalk. The Chocolate experience was great! Mary & her group did a great job of showing how Chocolate is made from cocoa bean to making hot chocolate for us. They also had a taste testing of the different flavors of chocolate. Our guide on the bus, Ronald, did a great job of answering all the questions that were asked of him. Our stop at the Croc Skywalk was also enjoyable. Not many crocs due to road construction being done but the lunch was good and the gift shop was top notch. Would definitely recommend doing this tour if you have the chance.

Would like to take this tour another time
Unfortunately got a late start due to the cruise ship, which was made even worse by traffic due to construction and holy week. Chocolate experience was interesting and educational. We had to rush through the boat ride to get back to the ship on time. Our tour guide seemed very frustrated and didn't spend a lot of time telling us about Costa Rica.

Tarcoles River and Sky Walk
We first went on a very nice, air conditioned bus to the Tarcoles River where our group of 14 boarded a boat. Our driver was in communication with other boat drivers and we saw many crocodiles, one was 17’ long. Our driver recognized each of the large gators and knew their names with back stories. Mike Tyson was the big male who was named because he had bitten the eye out of another gator. We saw many birds, easily recognized by our tour guide Josu. He had given each of us a beautiful card with pictures identifying the birds and would refer to them by both name and number.
Upon our return to the dock we went to a cool structure where we were given freshly cut watermelon and bananas.
We then loaded back in the bus to go to the Sky Walk which was a privately owned rainforest next to the national park. Here we walked across several “rope” bridges looking down into deep canyons with trees extending above us. We saw butterflies, ants, termite nests and a poisonous frog. We did not see a slough- that’s nature. But the forest was so beautiful and worth the walk.
On the return, we stopped at a large rest stop selling food, trinkets, snacks etc. Everyone there was so friendly and helpful. The restrooms were immaculate.
We ended the tour with a tour of Puntarenas with some history and culture. We had a wonderful day and would recommend this tour. Again, our guide Josu was great

I'd don't again in a heartbeat!
What a great tour! I thought the river tour would be hokey but it was fabulous! Crocodiles and birds galore along with knowledgeable boat captain and guide. The Skywalk over 3 of the suspended bridges was so fun! Mostly downhill walk so it was light effort (although many in our group called it strenuous). Again, Josué was a great, knowledgeable guide. Fernando, our driver, was so kind and I felt safe the whole drive. Last stop at the cafeteria/souvenir shop was good to break up the drive back to the ship. I would do this excursion again in a heartbeat!

Crocodiles, spiders, and birds, oh my!
Our guide Josue, and driver Billy gave us a fabulous tour. We visited The Sky Walk, the Crocodile Safari, and a lovely market where we purchased great souvenirs. Josue’s biology knowledge was very helpful at The Sky Walk, which introduced us to several elements of jungle life. At the Crocodile Safari our boat tour took us past crocodiles both very large and very small, as well as over a dozen species of birds. It was a day to remember.

Yummy chocolate!
Luis was a great tour guide. We were lucky to share a van with only two other people so we were very comfortable. The chocolate tour was so much fun and I drank the best hot chocolate of my life. Highly recommend this tour if you are not a thrill seeker. It was relaxing and fun.

Awesome tour. Our guide was awesome...
<p>Awesome tour. Our guide was awesome. He does tours on both coasts and purchased things for us to try that came from the Caribbean coast when he was there the day before. He came prepared with show and tell of Cashews, Coca bean bud. It was amazing. Our Zip-line was amazing as well. There were only 3 couples on our bus. One couple did horse back riding, another did a walk thru the jungle My husband and I were the only ones on the zip line tour. We also toured the river to look at the Crocodiles. Our guide was so knowledgeable, the he narrated the boat trip for the driver and pointed out all of the different birds.</p>
