Our guide was Sonia, and she was excellent. She met us right on time, and we walked through the hall as she explained the history. At our first stop, we had amazing thinly sliced duck that was spectacular. We then visited a cheese stall, where we had 3 different types of cheeses with white wine. There was so much cheese that we had to put the rest in a to-go box; otherwise, there was no way we could have finished the rest of the stops. Our next stop was cured meats accompanied by red wine, and the bread again was delicious, and we took a little to go. Our next stop was frog legs; we got to see how they are made and then taste them. Very good. This one we couldn't sit down, so it was a little difficult, as they are messy. Luckily, we moved to macarons next, and it was the perfect timing for a sweet after the frog legs, and probably the best we have ever tasted. Next stop was the chocolate; we were able to pick our own piece of chocolate from about 12 different types. Melt in your mouth. They saved the best dessert for last; we had this praline cookie with a graham cracker-like crust on the bottom that was delicious. The tour was so good, and the food so well selected, that we actually talked about doing it again later in the week. Sonia was amazing, so friendly, giving us helpful hints not just at the market, but also at other places to eat for our stay in Lyon. Definiely ask for her.
