This building is exceptional especially when the sun shines on it, and with the grounds around it including the fountain you can spend several hours here just admiring the architecture. There are plenty of seating with some in shaded areas. And with the Berlin TV Tower in the background you can really get some unusual photos.
Matthias did an outstanding job in showing us the Berlin Cathedral & Old Town. He provided us with a lot of information and history as we took some beautiful pictures. He was extremely knowledgeable and pleasant to visit with during the tour.
The exterior and interior of this major Berlin cathedral is simply outstanding. Allow yourself enough time to see the lower floors and also spare time to climb the few hundred steps to the walkway around the cathedral rotunda. The cathedral sits on a grassy lawn near the river. It’s large enough to mistakenly overlook the tour at the top of the church, which requires climbing a couple of hundred steps, but should not be missed as it has great views of the city in all directions.
