I had the opportunity to visit Pakistan multiple times and decided to take an old city tour with a guide named Shahid. Trip Planners was able to arrange everything the same day I booked and it was put together very fast! This was very helpful to work with my schedule. When I was picked up by Shahid, we spontaneously planned to explore the local flavors, many of which were new to me. We started our culinary adventure outside the old city, where Shahid recommended 2 local places for Nihari and fried goods. The food was absolutely delicious. Afterward, we ventured into the old city then explored the less touristy outskirts, which proved to be worth it as he showed me numerous amazing foods and good ideas for a future visit. From chapli and shami kebabs to sweets like jelebi, we indulged in a variety of culinary delights. Additionally, we had the opportunity to witness the craftsmanship of shoemakers and instrument makers in a local market. To add to the excitement, we even rode a motorbike rickshaw called a chingchi. Shahid took care of everything and provided extensive historical knowledge about the places we passed. It was the perfect choice to have the local perspective I was looking for. I thought it was all about the food but this tour was so much more! What a fantastic evening! And as for the food - OMG! I’ll never forget those flavours- amazing!
