Incredible Tour, Incredible Guide
It’s a long drive from Galway to Killarney, especially when you decide to make a day of it. With stops along the way, we were looking at roughly nine hours door to door. We chartered this private tour, and our driver and tour guide, Mark, was raised in Cork, and within about twenty minutes we realized we had lucked out. He was funny, knew seemingly everything about everywhere we passed, and had the very useful ability to tell you something interesting without making you feel like you were trapped on a school field trip. He knew his country and clearly loved it, which made spending nine hours in a car with him feel a whole lot less like spending nine hours in a car.
