I had an amazing experience on the Discover Ella tour with Sanju. As a solo traveller, I felt completely comfortable and well taken care of throughout the whole day. Sanju was friendly, helpful and very flexible with the pace of the tour. He made sure I enjoyed each place without ever feeling rushed, and his local knowledge made the experience feel much more personal than a typical tourist tour. Ella Rock, Nine Arch Bridge and Little Adam’s Peak were all incredible, but the way everything was organized made the day even better. I felt safe, relaxed and genuinely enjoyed exploring Ella with a local. Definitely one of the best tours I did during my time in Sri Lanka. I would happily recommend Sanju and Ella Holidays to other solo travellers.

We had a fantastic day and were lucky enough to have Sampa as our guide. He was so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable of the countryside and its flora and fauna. A credit to your company. This trip delivered with great views and well worth the money.

Our day with Dinu was one of the absolute highlights of our Sri Lankan adventure! From the moment Dinu picked us up from our hotel, everything felt easy and well organized. We headed towards Ella Rock for what turned out to be an unforgettable hiking experience. The hike was definitely challenging, especially for us, but Dinu was amazing. He was patient, encouraging, and attentive throughout the whole climb. Whenever we needed a little extra motivation, he was there to encourage us. He never rushed us and made sure we could enjoy the journey rather than simply focusing on reaching the top. And the views from Ella Rock were simply spectacular! Standing at the top and looking across the mountains and valleys was an experience we will remember for a long time. Dinu also made the hike much more interesting by explaining the landscape, nature, local culture, and everything we encountered along the way. His English is excellent, and he communicates very clearly, which made it easy for us to learn and ask questions. Beyond his knowledge, Dinu is simply a wonderful person to spend a day with — friendly, kind, patient, and genuinely passionate about showing visitors the beauty of Sri Lanka. The delicious lunch included in the tour was another lovely surprise and the perfect way to enjoy a relaxing break after the hike. We loved the combination of adventure, beautiful scenery, local knowledge, great food, and Dinu's wonderful company. It was a perfectly balanced day — active but relaxed, informative but fun. If you're visiting Ella, we would definitely recommend booking a tour with Dinu. He made our day special and gave us memories that we will take home with us.

Not recommended for solo travelers I booked this tour from Ella based on the reviews, and unfortunately my experience was quite different from what I expected. The guide was friendly, helpful, and willing to assist when needed. However, during the tour there was a lot of unnecessary conversation and several moments where I felt the guide was trying to promote or sell additional services and activities. As a solo traveler, this made me feel uncomfortable and took away from the experience. I understand that guides may receive commissions from certain activities or services, but I personally prefer a tour where the focus is on sightseeing, local information, and enjoying the destination rather than repeated selling or promoting. For solo travelers, I would recommend asking clearly in advance what is included in the tour and whether there will be any additional sales or commission-based activities. Unfortunately, based on my personal experience, I would not recommend this tour to other solo travelers.

I had a great time with Sanju. I originally booked this as a join-in group tour on Booking.com but it turned out to be just me and Sanju in his tuktuk. He was great company and easy to talk to. I loved the views from Ella Rock and Adam's Peak and Sanju also took some great photos at the different stops. He was very flexible with the pace and we enjoyed a lovely Sri Lanka lunch at the end

I had an absolutely incredible day with Sampa exploring the local waterfalls and the Nine Arch Bridge! He knew the perfect timing to beat the crowds, the best secret viewpoints for photos, and navigated the hiking trails with total safety and ease. Sampa is so friendly

Sanju as a guide was super nice. Especially on the hike through tea plantations, rice fields, etc., he explained a lot of interesting things. If one wishes, one can certainly extend the walking distance along the tracks, but in the heat, we were glad for the TukTuk transport between the stations. Sure, €50 per person is not cheap, but for those who want to learn more about the surroundings and prefer to be on a privately guided tour, this is the right place!

Dinuka and Sanju picked us up on time at the hotel and we had a good tuk tuk ride to the trail head for Ella Rock. Dinuka came prepared with leach socks and deterrent spray and he did a great job getting us up safely to 2 view points. On the way he pointed out birds, special plants, lizards and spiders and made this tour very educational. We had a delicious lunch in Ella . Unfortunately, the weather got so bad that we could not visit Little Adams Peak and the bridge.

Really nice experience! Dino knows all the places very well and took us to to the best spots. He is very kind and funny! Food also was very good and we finish on time!

Dino was the GOAT of guides. The hike in Ella with all the spots he shows is unique. Also, he’s quite savvy in terms of local plants and animals. He’s extremely respectful and his English is amazing. If we ever come back to Sri Lanka we would definitely contact him again. What a guide.
