Our guide was lovely. Friendly and very knowledgeable. We didn’t explore the medieval town or its history as widely as we thought we would, and stayed within a street or two throughout. Some of the tasting stops were just shops and vendors that we could have easily browsed ourselves. When we book these kinds of tours, which we do whenever we visit a new place, we expect to ‘go deeper’ than what we could reasonably be expected to find for ourselves - especially when it is a high cost private tour like this one was. We also expected to have a meal and wine included in the tour whereas these were just snacks so the value for money for us was lacking. In addition, the tour lasted only two and a half hours and we had to expected this to be longer.

I do want to give you a fuller picture of what this tour includes, because I think a few expectations may not have matched what was booked. This is a foodie tour, not a historical walking tour, and the two and a half to three hours plus free time is exactly as described. Within that time, our stops are carefully curated, not casual shop browsing: the handmade Fanouropita you tried is made at our own agency and isn't something you'd find elsewhere in town. You visited the best historic bakery and pastry shop in Rhodes for cheese and spinach pies, the oldest traditional coffee house in the Medieval Town, and the oldest coffee roasting location on the island. You tasted local liquors, honey and ouzo among them, had proper ouzo meze at a taverna, and finished with award-winning gelato.
The Medieval Town is a large, busy city, and finding these specific places, the ones locals actually go to rather than the ones on every tourist map, is itself the work behind this tour. As for history, Irene is a fully licensed guide, so if you'd asked her to lean more into that side along the way, she'd have been glad to.

An interesting, pleasant, and fun tour.

A very enjoyable tour.
A very fun and different experience. You taste local food and drink explained in a very pleasant way by our guide Giannis; thanks to him, you learn about the origins and traditions associated with each of the foods and drinks you taste. Thanks to Giannis, the tour is a 10.

Rhodes Food Tour
Highly recommend the Private Half-Day Food Tour in Rhodes’ Medieval Town! We had a wonderful morning with Irena, who took us to several local shops to sample their specialties. Along the way, she shared fascinating history about Rhodes and pointed out many historical sites and artifacts. A great way to experience the town’s food and culture!

Very informative on the history and culture of Greece and Rhodes in addition to selection of local food and drink. The 14th century coffee shop was a highlight! Our guide Irini was very kind, helpful and knowledgeable.

Rhodes History and Cultural Immersion
As a private tour, we were delighted to be met just steps off our cruise ship. So many times, we have to wander in search of some landmark plaza to find our quide. The strength of the tour is the focus on the history and culture of Rhodes. Not surprising since our guide turned out to be a classics professor at the local university. Tour included a couple of hours in the old city. Food was good and sufficient for walkers. We saw much that make us want to go back some day for an extended stay.

Maria gave us an interesting walking tour and food tour. I recommend the tour. Thee food was good and the tour ended about noon, still time to do other things. We ate at two of Maria’s restaurant recommendations and both were very good.

Rodos, food for the belly & the soul
Emanuella was marvelous! As a native of Rodos, she emersed us in her culture through the joy of her native food.
The tour allowed for personal selections, for instance in the bakery.

Amazing
We spent 15 days on vacation and by far this company planned the absolute best private tour. Out of season we wanted to have a wine tasting experience and they made it happen. We had a private tasting in the city in a most beautiful private villa. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and super friendly. We recommend this company. Attention to detail was excellent. I am 100% sure all their tours are excellent.
