I wish I could rate higher than 5 stars. Halil is a wonderful guide - really knows his stuff, happy to answer all your questions and share his knowledge. Pickup and dropoff with his partner, Caroline, who was lovely. The hike was well paced, plenty of stops for shade, rest, juice, pictures. Lunch was simple and yummy, just what you need to keep going. Lovely treat at the end with an opportunity to taste local wine, very nice. If you want a proper moderate hike (15 km, +200m/-400m) to explore the region and see and hear about centuries old civilization, local nature and geology, with no nonsense like shopping or tourist stops, this is it! I wish I had more days here, I would spend them all with Halil!

Our full day of hiking with Halil was one of those experiences our family will remember long after our trip to Cappadocia. He led the four of us through valleys where we often felt as though we had the landscape entirely to ourselves, bringing the region to life with stories of its ancient churches and frescoes, local vegetation, Byzantine history, and the people who once lived in this extraordinary landscape. Halil is warm, enthusiastic, incredibly knowledgeable, and clearly loves sharing his passion for this fascinating part of the world. By the end of the day, our daughter had nicknamed him “Indiana Jones”—which seemed pretty fitting after hours spent following him through hidden valleys and ancient rock-cut churches. I can’t imagine traveling to Cappadocia without hiking its valleys. Personally, I’d skip the hot-air balloons, horseback riding and quad bikes, lace up your hiking boots, and explore the valleys on foot with an expert local guide. For our family of four adults, a day walking, talking, discovering and learning together with Halil gave us a connection to Cappadocia and its history that we simply wouldn’t have had otherwise.

Without a doubt one of the best tours I have ever been on . Being a solo traveller can be lonely at times but from the very moment of meeting my guide Halil he made me feel like we were old friends going for a hike. The scenery was absolutely amazing and magical with Halil asking many times to put your imagination into play. The stops for freshly squeezed juice along the way including a refreshing lunch prepared by Halil. Halil is a wonderful guide and you can’t help but be engulfed in the beautiful countryside and the history behind everywhere you walk. Halil has a wicked sense of humour which I absolutely adore, he is very personable! Day finished off with a lovely glass of Turkish Wine. Thank you Halil, the experience was one that will stay with me for a very long time. Great value for money…. I told Halil he was undercharging. Highly recommend ❤️

Our guide, Halil, was engaging, full of history and fun to spend the day with. This may have been our favorite experience in Turkey. It is truly a magical place to explore. A decent level of fitness is required for this full day of hiking.

The highlight of my Cappadocia trip! Yes, it is nice to see the valleys from above. But having to experience it on foot with the best-est guide In Cappadocia, Halil, is a whole lot of experience. He thoroughly explained the history of the area, how people lived and how genius the were. Trully amazing! I’ll never forget this trip. Thank you Halil and to your wife and dog for your kindness! Highly recommended excursion. Stunning places. Very knowledgeable guide. During the walk, there are several stops, and although the excursion lasts all day, it is not tiring at all. Time flew by.

Such a great day, our favorite part of our trip. Halil Erdin was the perfect guide to show us all hidden part of Cappadocia. It s the perfect balance between walk, visit and nice orange juice stops. On top of that, Halil Erdin speaks fluent French. We highly recommand this tour.

The hike was fun and the perfect amount of challenging! There was no forced shopping along the way and the homemade food was great. Halil was happy to share his knowledge about the unique rock formations and the history of the caves. FYI its worth wearing appropriate shoes.

It was a wonderful and by far the most educational hiking activity I have ever done. Halil is a wonderful guide and he took all my worries away - from planning to driving to choosing a correct hiking route (some hiking trail signs were incorrect or maliciously altered) to sharing information about the churches/nature/history of Cappadocia. It was a full 8 hour day but it was an easy and relaxing hike, my 8 yo son Sasha enjoyed it very much too. And it is definitely the best way to see 4 different valleys in one beautiful hike.

You have not truly experienced Cappadocia until you go on this full day hike with Halil. His knowledge of the area’s history, the churches and of course the fairy chimneys made this journey fantastic. But let’s not forget his wonderful personality, patience and occasionally a helping hand when needed.
