Great experience, everything was as promised. Would do again. E-bikes were easy to use and came with a lock so we didn’t have to worry about leaving them while we walked around the shops or while we ate lunch. .

Bikes were fun, Costa Maya was a bit sketchy. We rode from the shop to the “boardwalk” where we were offered numerous massages and “free” places to sit on the beach. The beach smelled horrible - maybe due to storms or maybe due to the seaweed? We don’t feel comfortable stopping, even at the beach that was included with our bike rental. After riding down the boardwalk, my teen boys and I decided we felt more comfortable returning to the ship so we rode back to Toucans and they drove as back. All in all the service at Toucans was great, Costa Maya just wasn’t a port we would get off at again.

We had a great experience renting e-bikes from Toucan Tours. They picked us up from the cruise terminal and also dropped us off. The bikes were in good condition and easy to use.

Getting to the bikes was fairly simple. We had a little bit of a problem finding the correct people, but when we did, they were very helpful and everything went smoothly.

The meeting place instructions were not correct and we had trouble finding the pick up location. The e-bikes were fine and a great way to cruise down the boardwalk. Once we dropped off the bikes, we were told they were unable to drop us back off to the meeting location and we had to walk back instead. The walk back to the ships is very long, so adding the additional walk from the rental location was a bummer.

Toucan tours was super responsive prior to the booking. Directions for locating them off the ship was perfect. They were timely. Provided a nice AC van to get to their shop. It is within easy walking distance of the ship. The bikes were good. Easy to get to the beach which is the main destination. Water was included at both ends of the trip. Highly recommend this shop!

To get to the location you must exit the port area and past the taxis. Probably a 15-20min walk. Water provided before and after arrival

We walked feom the cruise terminal using our maps app. It was about a 10 minute walk to Toucan Tours. We arrived and they had our reservation and was ready for us. About 10 minutes into our ride on the electric bikes, mine stopped. My husband called the number given us and the options were all in Spanish. We flagged down a local who came over and called Toucan tours for us. He explained to them where we were and gave him a little something for his much needed help. Once Toucan was notified, they were there within 10 minutes with a replacement bike. We were on our way for the rest of the day for a beautiful day at the boardwalk.

We were given two different e-bikes, a male (with thin mountain bike tires) and female (with smaller fatter tires). We were given the male bike that was on display, the female bike was brought from inside the shop. Both were set to speed 3 by the attendant while he gave us directions to a (deal of a place) and a map of the area. As we drove along, a random cab driver yelled us (the male driver) to slow down!! Even though we were biking within parameters. After roughly fifteen minutes (we were on our way to Aarons coconuts) the female bike became flat. We called the number the attendant gave us in case there was a problem. (which he made a good point to mention when we picked the bikes up) We called over and over, 15 times in total with walking breaks in between. When they did pick up they sounded very concerned, asked where we were, which was a small hotel. They said they would meet us there in less then 15 min. When they showed up, a gangster looking guy with a pretty looking girl jumped out and told us not to "shoot the messenger" but "there's going to be another bike fee of $25 to receive the new bike" (which were originally purchased for $25 each). He opened the back of the van and there was the exact e-bike (female) that had the flat. We asked "why the extra fee?" He replied, "We got a tip, can you pay cash?" We replied, "What are you talking about, no, we have no cash? The bike has a flat, you gave it to us." (it ended up being a whole thing) He says, "We got a tip that you were diving too fast". I replied "We were going the speed we were set at, and the cab driver that yelled out the window was at me (male bike) not the female, how did you know to bring a female bike as a replacement?" He said, "lucky guess". Long story short, we paid at return because they had our (sea pass behind the desk) from our cruise ship. Needless to say, a bad experience and felt hustled to the fullest.

Great excursion for a great price! What you see is exactly what you get. Bikes were in good condition.
