We just completed a four-day tour of Galway and environs with Derek Spillane of Wild About Ireland Tours. We told him of our interests and Derek fashioned an itinerary that met our requests and then some. There the popular sites, like the Cliffs of Moher, but also lesser-visited places like Thoor Ballylee (Yeats’s summer home), hedge tombs in the Burren and the Michael Davitt Museum that we wouldn’t have otherwise seen but were just terrific. Derek is extremely knowledgeable. His passion and love for the area came through. Highly recommended.

Loved our Dublin to Galway tour
Derek was a wonderful guide! Derek was an excellent communicator, and helped me plan the best route for what we were looking for on our journey between Roosaveel and Dublin. Very knowledgable and friendly, Derek provided us detailed context and history to each of the sites we visited and gave us plenty of time to explore.

Dublin to the Cliffs of Moher
We had a very good experience overall on our tour from Dublin to the Cliffs of Moher with a stop in Galway.
Derek was a wonderful guide. He made us feel very comfortable and he was extremely knowledgeable, he could answer any questions we had. Whether history, geology, language, traditions, Irish mythology and even folktales. We toured a number of towns in the Burren, spent a good amount of time at the Cliffs of Mohr and stopped at several scenic and out of the way spots. Highly recommend!

The Tour was absolutely fascinating.
Our tour from Dublin to Galway was delightful. Derek, our guide had purchased our tickets for Newgrange in advance. The tour was absolutely fascinating and one of the highlights of our time in Ireland. We visited Trim Castle before an excellent lunch in a restaurant suggested by our guide. We even had time for a pint of Gunness in Sean's Bar, Ireland's oldest pub. I would highly recommend Derek, he is courteous, funny and full of history and stories.
