We booked this tour through Guru Walk which I had read about in The Times. Our guide Henrieta was highly knowledgeable about Spanish history putting lots of context around the circumstances and reasons for the workers rising and through the key moments of the Spanish Civil War through to the death of Franco and the subsequent transition back to a democracy and the challenges that presented. I cannot recommend this tour and Henrietta highly enough. An excellent way to understand the history of Spain, Europe and Barcelona and to see a lot of the city.

I booked a tour with Henrieta and learned a lot about the civil war. Way better then just looking at some old building. She said afterwards you will know more about the topic then the average local and I believe it. Best tour I did so far in Barcelona.

We enjoyed this tour very much. Yannis not only has a through knowledge of the subject but is obviously deeply passionate about it as well. He gave us not only an overview of the subject but some insight into the complexities of it also. His visual aids helped bring it to life as did his quote from Orwell which he had memorised. This has been the highlight of our visit to Barcelona and has got us researching and reading to find out more. Thoroughly recommend.
