I got up really early in the morning but it was really worth it. Super interesting to see a sumo workout up close. Despite their body weight, the wrestlers are agile, fit athletes. Be prepared to sit at least a couple of hours on a pillow on the floor. Afterwards you could take pictures with some of the wrestlers but we skipped that part.

Take note that the...
Take note that the meeting place is not the JR station and the stable is not near the Kokugikan. It is a 10-15 minute walk to the stable from the meeting station. The end time of the experience (10am for us) did not include time for photos or to walk back to the meeting point, so factor an extra 20-25 minutes for that.
Watching the training was interesting. There is no speaking during the training, so if you have a question you write/type is out and Alisa will write a response on her phone.
You are sitting on zabuton on the floor, and there is no tiers so you may not be able to see from sitting. The two people over 65 with me were able to ask for stools, but there are no chairs with backs.
The sumo themselves were very nice. Happy to take photos and pose with you.
I enjoyed the experience.

Thank you for your review.
I hope you enjoyed the tour of Japan's national sport. It's a 7-minute walk from the meeting point. Also, you will be sitting directly on the floor during this tour.
Thank you for your time!

Good but Long
The experience is too long and would be more enjoyable if only 60 minutes. There was a group that arrived at 9 am which would be a great option rather than 8am.

MY SUMO BUCKETLIST COMPLETE ✅
Alisa get us early there and we got to sit in front. I loved it. It is literally once in a lifetime opportunity, where else can you watch Sumo apart from Japan. we got front seats and it was so interesting to see this traditional martial arts. Morning training lasted 2.30 hours, so make sure you have some breakfast and toilet beforehand

I had a fulfilling time.
During the tour, we were given easy-to-understand explanations, including diagrams. I was able to enjoy the experience without any worries, which I would not have been able to have on my own, and I think this has given me an opportunity to learn more about sumo, including its history, in the future. Thank you very much.

Unforgettable memory
This experience provided by Alisa was a great start to my journey. I learned about Japanese politeness and the secrets of sumo wrestlers' bodies.
The other tour guests were just watching, but Alisa told us about the training contents and secrets each time, so it was very easy to understand. Anyway, it's an unforgettable memory. Arigato! for the origami gift!
