Madeline did a wonderful job of showing us around! She is a pleasant and friendly young lady, very knowledgeable! Made sure we enjoyed ourselves and gave us recommendations for lunchtime! Highly recommended!
My family did this tour with one of the WithLocals guide. The guide was 20 minutes late, which wasn't a big deal, but there was no discussion of the rest of our days timetable our how best to accomodate for this. We informed the guide that the group included first time visitors to Prague. The guide walked us to Kampa park and took us up to a view point of the castle and this was pretty much all the three hour tour included. We did not visit Charles Bridge or the old town, which was really disappointing for first time visitors. The guide was not good at communicating a comprehensive or cohesive background of the city or its history. We tightened our itinerary and registered for another walking tour on the next day as this was so bad. The quality of guides here seems unreliable, which is just not something you can risk on a short itinerary. I contacted the company with these concerns and no refund or compensation was offered.
Dear Sara, Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. I’m really sorry to hear that your experience left you disappointed: I completely understand how frustrating that must have felt, especially during your family trip. I also want to gently clarify that we did offer you a €160 voucher as compensation, as your satisfaction is very important to us. We truly hope you’ll give Withlocals another chance in the future so we can welcome you to a much more enjoyable experience. Kind regards, The Withlocals Team
We did a private walking tour of Prague with our guide, Stephen, and it was absolutely fantastic! From start to finish, Stephen brought the city to life with his deep knowledge and passion for Prague’s history and culture. He struck the perfect balance between historical insight and local charm—sharing fun facts, hidden gems, and even personal recommendations that made the city feel more intimate and meaningful. We walked away with a whole new appreciation for Prague. Stephen made the experience feel both educational and personal, and we’d absolutely recommend this tour to anyone wanting to go beyond the tourist spots and truly connect with the city.
We have done lots of walking tours in various places we have visited , as they are a great way to see the city and have things pointed out to you that you may well walk past and not realise. Stephen was a great guy, very informative, friendly and was able to answer all our questions. He was also flexible and changed a bit of the itinerary that we had done the previous day. I would probably suggest that you did the tour on your first day, as it is a great way to get to know the layout of the city and you have time to go back to places if you want to. We did ours on our last full day as we had travelled with a group of friends and wanted to spend time with them and see the city together, so there was a bit of duplication in parts , it even though we had seen some places / things we didn’t realise their significance. I would highly recommend this type of tour, it is private so it was just 2 of us, so much better than trailing around in a big group following an umbrella or flag, we saw lots of groups!
My husband, son and I thoroughly enjoyed the tour! Stephen was amazing!! We saw a variety of areas in the old town and other districts as well as interesting stories regarding history of the city, religion, politics and culture. So much more than just walking on our own. So many hidden gems in the city.
Very extensive and detailed tour of historical sites. Time well spent when you are on a short stay in Prague as it provides all the important sites one would want to visit.
Mesh was a super personable, engaged and passionate guide. Very happy with our experience. There was no rush, lots of information and fun times.
Michal was an exceptional guide with the flexibility to meet us at our hotel and focus on things that we had not previously seen. He was able to answer our questions and provide informative insights about each of the hidden gems that we visited.
I would highly recommend this tour. Our guide did a fantastic job of telling us, the history of the city, from medieval times, all the way through communism. Very interesting. Prepare for a lot of walking. Tip-she gave us the option of walking up the hill to the palace, or taking public transportation. Taking the public transportation is the way to go, trust me. You’ll enjoy this tour
This is the review you wrote: We were so blessed to have had Dana as our personal guide! Dana is passionate about Prague, and equally knowledgeable about the city to deliver an experience that far exceeded our expectations. My wife commented about how Dana was always smiling, and the stories and unique perspectives that only a true local would know kept us captivated for the entire 3+ hours that seemed to fly by. My favorites were the flood prevention wall markers along the river, and the poignant square street plaques noting the homes of Czech holocaust victims. We are deeply grateful for Dana’s guidance during our tour, and the many recommendations that she provided so that we can enjoy the rest of our Prague adventure. Thank you Dana! You are the best.
