A very interesting and educational tour. Larry is extremely knowledgeable and thoughtful. He tailors the tour to any specifics of interest, and makes sure your questions are answered. We learned so much about Harlem, the history, the culture, the arts and the evolution of the people that make it such an important part of New York and the country.

The Soul of Harlem tour is an absolute must! Larry, the tour guide, walked the group through Harlem explaining historical landmarks and its significance to NYC. The price was a little steep to me, but Larry’s outgoing personality and wealth of knowledge makes the tour worth the money. I’ll do it again next time I’m in NYC.

Excellent overview of Harlem including history and highlights of the Harlem Renaissance. Guide was very congenial and knowledgeable. Allowed a lot of questions and discussion. Highly recommended!
This experience is unlike no other you’ll ever get to experience, the Harlem tour with Mr. Lawerence was so exciting and educational and informative regarding Harlem history , he told us I’m sure everything there was to know about Harlem with facts, history and questions and answers time and even allowed us to recite an Langston Hughes poem ! Only my friend Armene Bolden had the courage to stand up and recite one on the very steps that Langston Hughes lived on. Mr. Lawrence even recited a snipet of one , it was simply a very great tour accompanied by some wonderful new friends we got to share it with.I think if in NYC you must take this tour and if possible ask to take with Mr. Lawrence Henderson, you’ll thank me❤️
Get the history, charm and culture of Harlem in a couple hours. Better yet, if you have never been to Harlem, you will be comfortable exploring after the tour. Our tour was three dudes interested in Harlem. Larry is a great tour guide and can relate to everyone.

This is such a great tour! You learn about the history, the people, the community, and everything in between.
Tour guide is very knowledgable and revises the tour to the group and walking g conditions. Unfortunately it was a hot day, which may have affected the route. For example we did not see the Schomburg Center.
