Great night viewing the night sky

Amazing Roofless Experience
Yes. The colour of a star mainly tells us about its surface temperature. Blue and blue-white stars are the hottest, white stars are also very hot, yellow stars such as our Sun are intermediate, while orange and red stars are cooler. Colour can also help astronomers understand a star’s type and, together with other observations, its stage of evolution.

A Wonderful Stargazing Experience in San Pedro de Atacama
A wonderful and memorable evening. Our original 10 p.m. tour was moved to an earlier time after the previous booking was cancelled. The driver collected us punctually from our hotel, then picked up an Australian family before taking us to an incredibly dark observing site.
We received a very warm welcome and were seated comfortably while our guide introduced us to the night sky. He was professional, knowledgeable, patient and enthusiastic, explaining everything clearly and making astronomy fascinating and easy to understand. We learned about the Milky Way, stars, nebulae, star clusters and dwarf stars. He also explained why stars appear in different colours and how their colours give us clues about their temperatures, with blue stars being hotter and red stars cooler. It was fascinating to realise how much information can be discovered simply by observing the light from a star.
Our guide also took wonderful individual and family photographs for us, with the Milky Way, Moon, Venus and stars providing spectacular natural backdrops.
The highlight was looking through the telescopes. Seeing the Moon, Saturn and its rings, stars and other celestial objects directly with our own eyes rather than on a screen was absolutely fabulous. It was amazing to realise that what we were seeing was actually there in the sky above us.
Our sincere appreciation goes to our guide for sharing his knowledge, expertise and passion for astronomy so generously. His friendly manner, thoughtful explanations, patience and attention to everyone made the evening particularly enjoyable and meaningful.
It was much more than a stargazing tour. It was a wonderful astronomy lesson, an unforgettable experience and a reminder to appreciate the Earth, our environment and our place in this vast universe. Highly recommended.

Looking at the stars and beyond.
Very good experience. I only recommend that you coordinate this experience when there is no moon. The first time I did it that way and it is spectacular. This time we did it with a full moon and the experience is less spectacular but it is still worth living it.

Amazing experience
We had an amazing experience with Roofless Stargazing and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting San Pedro de Atacama.
Jhonatan was incredibly accommodating, attentive and knowledgeable throughout the evening. He took the time to make sure we were comfortable, answered all of our questions, and made the whole experience feel very personal and relaxed.
Stargazing in the Atacama was already something we were really looking forward to, but this ended up being one of the most memorable experiences of our trip. We also came away with some absolutely beautiful photos that we’ll treasure.

A great atacama experience you shouldn't miss!
We absolutely loved "The roofless experience" in the Atacama Desert! It was one of the most memorable experiences of our trip.
We discovered so many things about the night sky that we had never known before. The sky was absolutely breathtaking, filled with countless stars, and Jonathan, our guide, gave us fascinating and very professional explanations throughout the evening.
We also had the opportunity to look through a telescope and see celestial objects and phenomena we had never seen before. We took beautiful photos with the incredible night sky in the background, and even enjoyed some delicious snacks during the experience.
The whole tour was truly special, fascinating, and immersive. It was definitely one of the experiences we remember most from our time in the Atacama Desert.
We highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Atacama. It’s something you shouldn’t miss!

Great experience. Jhonathan and team clearly care and are passionate about stargazing. We were able to learn about the southern skies, observe the skies through telescopes (seeing Saturn and its rings was a highlight) and take some amazing photos (and learn how to better utilise our phone cameras!). The tour starts very late but it’s worth the wait to see a very dark sky. Saw many shooting stars too - very special!
