Very interesting, and probably the largest collection of gems in Cambodia. I recommend if you are a gem amateur, or if you just want to learn.

We are a family of four and scheduled a 1/2 day workshop. Alice presented the museum, categories of gems, then explained how to identify the various gems with different techniques that we got to experiment. We also bought some very nice jewelry and raw gems in the store. The workshop is a bit expensive for a family of four but worth it as it is quite unique. The jewelry is affordable and beautiful and we are very happy with our purchases. Overall a great experience that i highly recommend ... we were very happy with the quality of the services, which is not always guaranteed in Siem Reap.

We took an introductory course to the exciting world of gemology, perfectly led by Alice. the course was followed by a practice with stones. We also ordered a ring that was sent to us on time, and we are delighted with the result. We highly recommend! Thanks to the whole team of the Siem Reap Gemmological Institute:)

I got a very interesting visit and learn a lot about the different varieties of gems. I did not know about the different stones and gems in Cambodia. Nice things to do besides the temple.

I can only recommend to people who hesitate to do this activity. First of all in a country like Cambodia a lot of different gems circulate which makes the course very diverse. Then the course is in French which is not easy to find in this region. Finally, the course is not so expensive and worth it, especially since courses like this would cost at least twice as much in France or Europe. For those who want to go around all the basics in gemology I advise you to do the 6h course because even if it may seem long, the person who taught me the course is passionate about his work which makes time pass quickly. In addition to this the 6h course will allow you to address topics in more detail than the 3h course even if it remains very sufficient.

My wife and I took a 3 hour session with Jean-Philippe which was very beneficial and informative. For us it was very good learning relating to basic gemoligical identification and classification. For anyone with an interest, Jean- Philippe has the skills and knowledge to address your level of increased knowledge. I would highly recommend.

My husband and son spent 3 hours in the company of the highly knowledgeable but very interesting Professor Jean-Philippe Lepage who introduced them to the world of gemstones and the science behind their identification and grading and classification.How to identify synthetic,treated and natural gemstones.He made the session a highly enjoyable time and as a result for anyone who wants to build their basic knowlege of gemstones and have a break from the touring AngkorWat to try something different.
