Beck was an amazing guide! He made exploring Gion at night so much fun and took us to the best spots for pictures. He’s also an excellent camera man! Definitely recommend this tour if you want to experience Gion with a great guide!

Wonderful Walking Tour of Kyoto’s Historic Center
We had a wonderful experience exploring Kyoto’s historic center with our guide, Beck. He was incredibly attentive, knowledgeable, and happy to answer all of our questions throughout the tour.
What we especially appreciated was how Beck explained the cultural details behind what we were seeing—not just the history. He taught us about things like the meaning of the cloths displayed outside restaurants and showed us the proper way to pray at a Shinto shrine. These little insights made the experience much more meaningful and helped us understand and appreciate Japanese culture on a deeper level.
Beck was also very thoughtful about taking lots of pictures of us along the way, which was such a nice touch and gave us wonderful memories to take home.
We highly recommend this tour, especially if it’s your first time in Kyoto. Beck made the experience informative, engaging, and personal. Thank you, Beck, for such a great introduction to Kyoto!

Wonderful tour with a great guide.
Beck provided us with a lovely walk through old Kyoto / gion. He was knowledgeable and incredibly friendly. We learned about religion, history and architecture. My boys had a blast talking to him about Japanese culture. High recommend.

Hero is awesome!
Hero is an awesome guide! I was full of curiosity, and he had answers to every question. He had insider knowledge not just about the beautiful sights of Kyoto, but about local customs. He is a genuinely warm person who makes the tour feel like you're seeing a friend's hometown. I will definitely book another tour with him in our future Japan travels.
