I booked pick-up from an airport hotel, and despite some concerns about the distance, I found it to be a fairly easy journey—definitely not too far in my opinion. If you're debating whether it's worth the trip, I'd say go for it! Sigiriya rock is stunning, much better than I was expecting My guide, Christo, was fantastic—knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly passionate about the area. He made sure to stop at multiple interesting spots along the way, which really added to the experience. It wasn’t just a straight A-to-B trip; we got to soak in a lot of different sights, which I really appreciated. One thing to keep in mind: if you’re doing the village tour, expect that everyone you meet will anticipate a tip. It’s not a bad thing—just something to be aware of so you have small bills ready. It’s part of the experience, and honestly, many of the people we met were lovely and made the stops feel worthwhile. Overall, a great experience, especially thanks to Christo’s guiding. If you’re looking for a well-paced tour with plenty of interesting stops, this one is definitely worth considering.
