A unique and really interesting tour which gave us an insight into local culture. Our tour guide Maa’n was exceptionally friendly and enthusiastic, and was full of knowledge. The local restaurant we visited was beautifully located and provided delicious, local Thai food. We wouldn’t normally have signed up for something like this on paper but are so glad we did and would definitely recommend to anyone.
We were collected at our Hotel by our tour guide Mann. We drove to the pier at Krabi town and from here we took a long boat out to Tham Khao Khanab Nam caves. This is where the Japanese soliders hid during WW2. Our guide Mann gave us the history of the caves and surronding area, he was excellent, very knowledgeable . On our return to our long boat we encountered some of the residents from the island ( Monkeys) they boarded the boat opened bags and containers searching for food. After leaving the caves we headed to Ban Kohklang island and toured the island by tuk tuk all the time Mann was telling us about the history of the island. As darkness fell Mann took us to this amazing resturant ( which was in the middle of nowhere, and on the surface didnt look much) this experience was amazing, we had a private dinner for two sitting on a floating pontoon, the surrondings were magical and the food was even better, I have eaten in Michelin star resturants and this was equally as good, I would highly recommend this resturant, it is called Hassan Farm and is located in Koh Klang village. We would never have experienced this without Mann guiding us around. We later visited a local art studio and a night market before returning to our Hotel. The tour took approximately 5 hours and it was time well spent. If you are visiting Krabi I would highly recommended doing this tour, and if you are lucky enough to get Mann as your guide then you are guaranteed to have a great time.
Highlights of Krabi. Amazing tour. Maan the guide was brilliant, very knowledgeable and friendly. Really saw the real Thailand and the villages of koh klang were amazing. Really nice Thai meal as well in the villages right next to a small lake. Tuk tuk ride was brilliant around the island. Thank you Maan and team!
It was a fantastic day with Charlotte. Would do it again and again. He acquainted himself with a market visit and a local breakfast.
We were a group of 10 (from 7 to 72 years old) and had a fantastic day in the care of Ja Boo (little crab). We did an early morning tour in the local market, a boat ride in the Mangroves (via a great cave) and a tour of the Koh Khlang island on Tuktuk where we saw many traditional family shops (painting, honey, boat making) keeping this small community alive and prospering. Best of all: we were the only foreigners during the entire day and really felt that we finally saw something fully authentic! After many days in Thailand, this was a great cultural experience for the full family.
