ダーウィン：カカドゥ＆ヌールランジートリッププラスビラボンクルーズ（ランチ付き）

Thanks to AATkings for the exquisite itinerary, which made my time in Darwin truly memorable and incredible. Special thanks to Jess, she was among the best guides I've ever encountered. In the future, I believe I will definitely choose AATkings again to visit Darwin and other places in Australia.

This is a very long day! Started at 0630 and ended at 7.45pm. However, it was very enjoyable and interesting due to the care and attention of our very knowledgeable driver/guide Mark. He kept us to time but it didn’t feel hurried. He took the time to show us and describe the significance of precious rock art at Nourlangie on the way to Kakadu. This entailed walking along a paved path then up and down a few steps with an alternate pathway available. The bus was large, air conditioned and had an on board toilet. There were regular comfort stops during the day. The bus comes back to Darwin direct which is about 3 hours. We were a smaller group of 14 on a very large bus and the early start was made easier by hotel pick up and drop off. It was 37 degrees and we were actively encouraged to drink water and top up our re-usable bottles from the cool water tanks on board the bus. The Yellow Water Billabong cruise and included lunch at Cooinda were fabulous. The local guide on the cruise was very informative. Note that if you take the add on flight over Kakadu option you won’t visit the Warradjan cultural centre. That part of the tour was the only part that felt rushed as the bus has to drive to Jabiru after 35 minutes to pick up those who went on the optional flight. Pack a few snacks and take sunscreen, insect repellent and comfortable shoes plus a wide brimmed hat.

It would have been a great day except the aircon in the bus broke down several hours into the trip on a very hot day. The tour bus driver tried to be very helpful but there is not much you can do with broken aircon. They eventually got a new bus sent for the last couple of hours but this experience truly spoiled the day. On a bus trip in Alaska when a similar type problem arose we were refunded our entire trip cost. I didn't expect this but it might have been nice if the company had offered to buy us a cold drink in the Mercure Crocodile where we left while awaiting the new bus.

Mel the AAT Kings driver and guide was terrific. We also appreciated Kodar at Yellow Wayers Cruise.

I should of read the reviews carefully before booking this , the only positive was the yellow river billabong cruise, which we had to get back in time to prioritise other tourers who wanted to do the additional flight activity which I wasn’t aware of prior to booking at an additional 250 dollars per person. Then if you didn’t do the flight they took you to the cultural centre for half an hour then rushed out to the airport to pick up the peeps who do the flight, waited for over 20 minutes as they hadn’t even landed yet, waited for 4 planes to land, then off to the croc hotel to drop people off where staying for longer , 15 minutes timeframe to get a drink and toilet break then straight back to Darwin no stopping, what a rip. The first stop on the way at a servo was for 30 mins, took that long for them to make a flat white. The rock art stop was average , a couple of paintings that are touched up and rocks siliconed to preserve them, then lunch chicken and bread roll was good, salad etc was average. Should have drove down just for the cruise. We drove to Katherine Gorge the day before and did the cruise was awesome and swam at Edith falls. Thought we’d split the driving with a tour, disappointed, this tour did not provide much of a Kakadu experience.

Everything was well organised only wished we could have seen a little more of Kakadu. Only got 3 spots out of the tour

Good tour if you only have a day, particularly the river cruise, which was really exceptional and we saw lots of incredible wildlife. But I would recommend a different tour for those seeking adventure - this one doesn’t include too much walking and it means key lookouts are left off the itinerary, meaning it doesn’t feel like you’ve seen the park. There is an add on for a spectacular scenic flight - but that comes at a significant extra cost.

The tour and tour guide were excellent. Our tour guide Matt was great and knowledgeable. Kakadu for me was fine, I've been there before no wow factor for me (I went because my wife wanted to see it). Unfortunately they mucked up our lunch (the facility didn't cater enough for the number on our tour) and we didn't get our main lunch item until 3 minutes before we had to board the bus. So I had one bite and left 90% of it (not good).

I have been to Kakadu before, but a long time ago. I had good memories, so wanted to visit again, mainly to do the Yellow Water cruise. AAT were the only ones offering this, so I booked their tour. I also liked the fact that their tour did not include Ubirr, as I did not want to scramble over rocks in the oppressive heat. Nourlangie was enough. However, what the tour boiled down to was a lot of sitting. On the bus, at lunch, and on the boat. While the seat on the coach was comfortable to start with, the last three non-stop hours from Jabiru back to Darwin were pure torture. Apart from Nourlangie Rock you will basically only do the cruise and visit a cultural centre. I opted for a scenic flight from Cooinda to Jabiru instead and would recommend it for variety’s sake. The cruise was great, and the lunch delicious, but that is not enough to recommend to do Kakadu in a day. My idea would be a transfer option to Cooinda, so that you could spend the night there and do a dusk and dawn cruise and then return to Darwin the next day. I found the day tour so exhausting that I cancelled my Katherine Gorge trip, as it would have been a similarly unsatisfactory experience.

It's a very long trip and you probably spend as much time on the coach as off, so the tour company need to update their tech to make it less boring. Instead of just showing screens with the road ahead, show a map of the route with information about each place. The driver was very knowledgeable and engaging with his commentary, but again the tech in the coach needs updating. We also found the rock art site and cultural centre underwhelming. The lunch too was not even ready when we got there and rather limited in quality and quantity. We did, however, enjoy the river cruise. The ' captain' was quirky yet very knowledgeable. This redeemed the trip for us. There was too little time at the Cultural Centre and way too much time waiting for a driver change at the Crocodile Resort, ten minutes turned into thirty waiting on a hot coach to then take a further three hours to get back to Darwin. At $ 1000 per couple, the thirteen hour day was too long, too much money and sooo inderwhelming.
