The official website said it was open from 9 until 6:00 PM. We arrived here and everything is closed! I came to Tarifa just to see this. Maximum disorganization. Information from the official website is incorrect.
Well worth the drive from Algeciras or Tarifa. Good signage available in Spanish and English. They are still excavating the site, so be on the look out for archaeologists. We walked around for about an hour. There are 2 restaurants right next to the site. Space is spread out so no issues with crowds. If you're interested in Archaeology, ruins, or Roman history, highly recommend coming here for a visit.
I just wonder what it should be like to live in Baelo Claudia. A beach as amazing as Bologna, with the remains of a Roman city. Archaeological excavations continue to be carried out to continue discovering the wonders that are buried. The theater left me speechless, to this day, performances and concerts continue to be made. A unique setting, with the sea a few hundred meters away. I just hope the fires and wild urbanism don't destroy the magic around her.

For those with an interest in Roman archeological sites this is one of the best - and gratis ! We were given a warm welcome and written information of a high standard ( and in English ). A museum inside then a fascinating site and in a very picturesque location. A big site to explore and with a teatro. I would definitely rate this highly; very impressive indeed .
Fantastic Roman village right next to the sea. Well preserved I'm taking care of. Excellent day out for the family especially those who love history. Well worth the visit
