My agent booked me in for a traditional hamam experience at Aga Hamami...and it was superb!
From the atmosphere in the place...complete indulgence with a sense of history.
They made me feel welcome, with some Turkish Cai...then explained everything to me.... The heated marble slab sauna was meditative. It was to be used by both men and women, but it was no issue at all. We were all in tiny towels, but it didn't matter. It was so peaceful.
Then the scrub and the foam cleanse was done in individual rooms with such professionalism. This was followed again with some quiet time wrapped in my soft turkish towel on a sun bed sipping on sherbet and some Turkish delight.
Next I was whisked off for the oil massage , which was excellent and later again left to relax and rejuvenate myself with more cai or sherbet ...
Overall a superb experience....a must do!

Absolutely Wonderful Experience at Aga Hamami
Absolutely wonderful experience at Aga Hamami! We came as a couple and chose the 90-minute bath and massage session, and from start to finish, everything was beautifully done.
We received such a warm welcome from the staff, and Sultan was an excellent host. The whole experience was incredibly relaxing and well organised, with clear instructions from the very beginning, so we always knew what to expect.
The hamam itself was amazing — from the sauna and the full-body scrub to the bath and, finally, the oil massage. We genuinely felt like babies being pampered from head to toe! 😄 The scrub left us feeling incredibly clean, and the oil massage was so soothing and calming for the muscles. We walked out feeling completely refreshed and, quite literally, squeaky clean.
The little touches made it even more special — the hibiscus şerbet and rose lokum were lovely, and the hospitality throughout was exceptional.
Huge kudos to Sultan and the entire team for making this such a memorable experience. If you're visiting Istanbul and want to experience a traditional hamam with great hospitality, we'd definitely recommend Aga Hamami!

A Major Security Scandal, Your Life is in Danger!
I had a massage at this establishment. After they applied oil to my body, they sent me to the showers downstairs because there were no showers upstairs where the massage parlor was. My body was greasy, and I was forced to use the stairs, so I slipped and fell. In a facility where the risk of wet and oily floors is so high, this layout and wayfinding logic is an absolute disgrace. They completely disregarded my safety. I had a very serious accident, absolutely do not even go near that door!

First Hamam, best experience
A great hamam experience. The staff guided me through the process since this is my first time to a hamam ! They were very friendly, the massage was wonderful the wash was very skillful and careful. They offer snacks and tea at the end of your visit and they have hair brushes, dryers and products available free to use. The multi story area to relax is wonderful!

A wonderful Turkish bath experience. Everything was exceptional from when we arrived. A very authentic Turkish bath with incredible facilities. The staff were highly skilled - the Turkish scrub and foam bath were so relaxing and definitely something to experience whilst in Istanbul. We look forward to returning!

Good experience
My friend and I decided since we had to go through Istanbul to get home, we should get a Turkish Bath in Turkey. The experience was very nice. The women who did the scrubbing and bubbles were good at their jobs. I only had 2 complaints. 1) the man who took our money raised the price from what we had reserved but the increase only turned out to be about $6 and we really wanted to have the service so we paid. 2) there was ZERO effort at discretion or privacy in the scrubbing room. But for an agreement between my friend and myself, we would have been much better acquainted than we would have preferred. All of that considered, we enjoyed the experience and are glad we did it.

Tour of historic sights and local markets
Picked up at hotel at 8:00 am. Guide was very cordial and spoke about the sights in English. Took the train downtown. ( need card for train cost) Went to a variety of sights that were listed on the tour. Was impressed by the cleanliness of the sights and the magnificent historical landmarks. Definitely worth the time. Met a carpet maker and learned how to pick a good or best hand made carpets. Learned that carpets could be shipped to your house and taxes were covered by their government. Drank Turkish coffee and ate deserts. . Later in the tour taken to see hand made pottery by local artists. Walked thru area where some famous American movies were made. Caught a train to the spice markets and had lunch with guide before heading back to hotel. Fabulous tour and would highly recommend signing up for the experience.

Great way to relax after next week of touring
Wonderful experience including hot marble “bed”, followed by body scrub, bubble wash and shampoo. Next relaxation and tea. Finally oil massage. Heavenly
