Amazing day with my driver Sigit! He spoke about the history and religion of the area, bought local snacks for me to try, and was helpful throughout the day. I also met another group led by Dani who was very nice. It can be a tiring climb up Sikunir Hill, lots of steps and dusty at the top, so come prepared, but so worth the view! It will be cold before the sun rises so dress warm. There was a big crowd of people at the peak (went on a Sunday). The crater and temple were cool to see afterwards, and the Batu Ratapan Angin viewpoint is beautiful!

Fun and memorable tour with excellent views and guide
The itinerary was comprehensive and the views were great. Our guide, Deny, was knowledgeable and shared a lot about the stories / background of the places we visited. He also paid a lot of attention to our safety when climbing up and down Sikunir Hill for the sunrise views. While the drive was long, the views and experience made up for it (kudos to our driver, Bayu, for making the drive smooth and enjoyable despite the traffic!). No regrets booking this tour and highly recommend anyone visiting Yogyakarta to try this once!

Dieng Plateau and Sunrise: Our guide, Yuni was well informed and navigated the tour with local knowledge.
Yuni was our local guide. He was timely and friendly. Besides the paid portion of the tour, he showed us the local areas as well.

Amazing
The waking up early and the long drive is worth the view. This was our third day with the same tour operator and each tour was of the same great level. In this activity, our tour guide was Didik who was beyond helpful. We packed a light jacket and he went out of his way to try and find us a shop to get a ticker one. Didik was not only insightful throughout the whole activity but took us some great photos! He’s also so warm and welcoming, made us feel comfortable throughout. We cannot thank him enough!
This activity is a must when you’re in Yogyakarta. My only advice is to wear winter clothes and take a thick jacket since the weather until sunrise is quite cold.

Dieng Plateau 10/10!
We had a blast with on this excursion! Sigit (our driver) made our experience very comfortable. Although we had to wake up very early in the morning, Sigit’s energy truly kept us going! We were lucky to have a clear day and viewed all 8 volcanoes from the top of Dieng. The lake was very beautiful and the hot springs were a really cool experience. Sigit gave us some great recommendations of local restaurants and things to do around Yogya. He was extremely accommodating and was very helpful to us as his English is great and it was easy to communicate. Great time overall 10/10

A site I finally revisited.
Visited 33 years ago when the site was just temples in an open field.Driver Danni helped locate local musician who was playing with a traditional group there that time so I was able to give him his photo with the group . Also photos of the site as it once was. Now it is a major tourist site but is well worth it if you are interested in Indonesian history.

Beautiful views and cultural experience
Had a great time, the guide was amazing, especially since I did the tour as a solo woman. Great way to see central Java, highly recommend.

Superb experience
One of the greatest sunrise I have done. Check your weather and make some offerings at shrine for that (pun intended). Driver, Sigit, was punctual, fun and great travel-partner overall if you are solo traveler. The hike to the top of the hill is not-so-much hard, but bring comfy shoes and OUTER (It is COLD, and you need to wait an hour or so to see the rise). Anyway, I would recommend to anyone who love sunrise and a bit of hike. Other visits are also well-designed and give you some more photo-ops.
